pesonize your armor
« on: February 06, 2004, 07:24:10 pm »
it would be cool f you could chanche your armor.
like you go to armorer or another job there you buy an ornament for your armor, after it is made you can let it be attached to your armor by a armorer/blacksmith.
maybe with a bleu print of your armor so that you could disign you own armor(this should be expensive) or predifined options where you can place that ornament on you armor.
with this you will gain much more difference between people

Yeah, i like that idea.
I would also want to be able to change the skins of armors and stuff, and then be able to submit it somehow so it could get updated into the game. This way other ppl would see your custom made skin on you.
That item would then hafta have a unique ID or something tho...

I\'ve played games with customizable armors and weapons before and it can be fun. Basically in this game you could use stuff you found on the ground and such to add to your armor/weapon and then you would tell a blacksmith to customize it. of course the better the item you are customizing the higher the fee, as well as the items you are putting on affects price.

Hate to break it to ya, but if it were truly custom and not made from pre-existing parts...
...well, let\'s just say 56k\'ers would not be happy...
That isn\'t to say it wouldn\'t be cool though.

Yea it sounds good aye.

but.....

if your armour could be maxed out players would do it straight away and it would be fully maxed out with gems and what ever.

i was wondering if you had to find the gems or do something that takes time and NOT money.

customising is just putting everything possible within a few minutes and you wouldent see a non maxed out sword but only the best customised ones.

well you get my swinga things

you may as well put 2 swords in (and less lag too.)
in game name : davoid

fully customiseable skins + armour would be abused by any lamers joining the server (+ with no account fees banning people is little threat)

just imagine u r in your happr RPG world when some idiot appears looking like a big penis with a \'suck-me\' t-shirt (armour) on!!!

it was not my meaning that you could create your armor by meaning of coding it yourself.
it was my meaning that you could BUY things for your armor and customize it that way.

that imply full customisability

a runic system for ar/weps would be good, plus i doubt it would be too cpu intensive

if the game supports damage types (ie fire, energy, poison etc) then ar runes could be as simple as adding extra defence against their type

eg

add a +5 fire rune to a piece of armour = that ar has +5 fire resistence

this could also be easily implemented into weps

eg

add a +5 fire rune to a sword = sword deals normal damage +5 fire damage

is that the kinda thing u were thinking of?

if so.. what would u suggest as runes/gems and what would be the max \'sockets\' per item?

What i think he meant is that you can buy a horn from a merchant, take it to a blacksmith, then the blacksmith will put the horn on your helmet, thus giving you a personalized helmet.

As cool as this would be, it still may be too much for most computers to handle (especially the object pasting idea). I would be happy enough with just being able to change the color sets of the armor.

For example the shoulder pads and leggings could be in the same set; ColorSet1 = brown

Then chestplate and bracers;  ColorSet2 = regal blue

Boots and gloves; Colorset3 = abyssal black

Helmet; ColorSet4 = shiny silver

I guess it would be better to have each piece customized individually as far as tastes would want, but may create more tax than nessesary.

[EDIT: I made the colors sound more specific]
