Nice writing.

But the symetricality(symetricity?) of the actions bothers me(just a bit;)). You could have balanced the participation in further/other events... ;)

Interlude: Closing up of the first battle
« Reply #18 on: February 16, 2004, 04:12:18 am »
The first battle has came near  the end and the main fighting is done but still three guilds are fighting. They countinue to fight as the final skirmishes come to an end.
It was a gruelsome battle as people died, never knowing if it was them who will die or their friends. Kixie and his squad was trying to hold the Yliruns to the north. Kixie himself was wounded but kept on fighting and his men did too. Many of Kixie\'s men were badly injured or deadbut they still held their ground trying to prevent the Ylirun escape.  At the end Kixie was able to stop all of the Ylirun threats but at a great cost of his men.  As the battle ended with the death of a Ylirun soldier Kixie fell on his knees and looked up at the Azure Sun then he fell down with exhaustion.
As for Aendar Callenlasse and his men; they were able to hold the and escape route plus stop some escaping Yliruns. Nevertheless the bridge was badly damaged when the Yliruns tried to burn it down, luckily there was something in the Calen Vakhar who could cast blue way magic and distinguish the fire.
The Mirth guild also had a tough time on their hands. Most of the members were pre-occupied with trying to save because there were so many wounded. At one point there were so many wounded friendlies that some of them were left without treatment for an hour.
Although the Federation force did capture a lot of supplies and the Guilds supported the Federation attack force, the cost of lives for this battle was too high. Unfortunately this would not be the last battle, more blood would have to be shed to win this war.

Chapter 7: One mission isn't enough.
« Reply #20 on: March 12, 2004, 02:37:29 am »
Sorry I promised I\'d keep writing but I\'ve been so busy, forgive, I\'ll start continuing the story again, its just been hectic for me getting school done and getting ready to go college this fall.

The battle over the Ylirun supply facility has been won, but the cost of the man power was too great. This battle won was a bittersweet time for the guilds of Yliakum and the Federation. A few days were given to the to all men who fought, for rest is what they deserved...

The Guild leaders also took rest at their guild homes. It was a tiring time for them. The person who had it the worse was Aendar Callenlasse. He spent an entire day on a peak of a nearby mountain watching the Azure sun setting as the lake levels were lowering signifying night. He saw the bluish-purple sky as the Crystal sun was setting down and the matter of the rocks making a purple color. He was thinking to himself the whole night, \"Why was I send to protect a bridge? I\'m not supposed to waste my time protecting a bridge. Ughh, why! My soldiers died for a bridge! We could\'ve retreated south if we wanted to, why was the eastern route so important? Why, why, why!\" Eventually Aendar fell asleep. He woke up the next day and walked down to his guild house and saw the other guild leaders there. He was a bit suprised but happy to see them. He went up to them a smiled gently, \"How have you guys been doing?\" They all replied and told Aendar to come him that they were here to discuss the next mission, requested by the Octarchs. Aendar knew he had to put his thoughts aside but was going to try investigate the problem no matter what, later.
