Hey i think that guild controlled cities are a great idea,  though we will need some kind of limitations. Firstly having a town will cost a great amount of money so that small guilds will not be able to afford it. Secondly devs should prepare some spots for building a city, so that it cant be built just anywhere. This will remove the problem of having cities 5 metres from each other. Last but not least, all the city buildings must have an impact on gameplay. Capturing towns should be possible, but it have to be very difficult to do it, defenders must know about upcoming attack before it happens, so that they can prepare themselves.

I dont kown if someone already sugested this (didnt read all the posts they are HUGE) but why dont instead of citys you can have certain zones in the city or outside were a guild could have his \"bunker\", were only their members could spawn and do a lot of other stuff.
This places already could be conquered by an enemy guild invasion. Of course they wont are in important zones of the map (are u imaging a guild be the owner of the plazaa??).

Take over the plaza and put a big statue of yourslef on the fountain :P

OT: A Guild city could work, and it wouldn\'t have to be so much work for the guild as to not make it fun. Noone runs the plazaa  and it manages fine. As to how guilds are allowed to build cities, if the game is goign to be exapnding as promised, let the top guild each month or something (depending on expansion on game) pick and PAY for a zone to stick what they want there, and if that involves opening a few shops? Well hey, I gues we got a town!

Of corse if a guild goes to war there would have to be a way to take over the town, such as say eliminate all guild members in the city. Like prevouisly said, no \"surprise attacks\". Perhaps a formal battle, like a duel only the victor gets a city. With time any idea can work.

My 2 cents, Matt
