New to this game

I just saw this game and was thinking about joining it then i got screwed on runescape and said forget this and quit so im going to play planeshift and start with everyone else so when its going great ill be on top with the other people who started at the first, but i have some questions.  I read about the Races and stuff sounds fun and all but are the graphics going to stream from the server which would be bad for us Dial Upers or will they be stored on your pc, and how much lag should i be expecting? ?(

i think its stored on the computer. they said it should work for dial upper so don\'t worry. though the enitial downloads gonna be a killer for the modem guys it should work with ease

well.. the first download wontbe that big. It will be 25-30mb... and after that you only have to download small update files, so i think the downloading problem for dail-up guys wont be that bad.

the devs of ps are cutting off every single extra polygon not needed, trust me, u wont get much lag at all for the first demo, considering it is a small dl.

First of all, I\'m looking forward to the launch of PS... it\'s good to see a game development team doing their thing for the *right* reason (fun!) rather than to make a buck.  Way to go, and keep it up!

By the way, the power lines thing is a concept that has been under study for years, but right now it does *not* exist in any workable format.  Until someone can figure out how to keep a signal clean as it passes through a transformer, maybe... but for right now, you\'re SOL.  

Oh, and by the way... I love my cablemodem.  I kiss it daily and thank it for its loyal service.

erhm.. about that power line thingy.. it has been tested over here.. and they said it worked good.....

i was watching the news and it said that alot of american places couldn\'t do it cause we use alot of little transformers and if we wanted to do it through power lines we\'d have to install the setup on all of them whereas alot of other countries have one main transformer that services whole nieborhoods so it\'s easy to do it

ok, where are u people hearing about this?  Ive never heard anything bout using power lines as an internet connection, maybe im just deaf.

i heard that some countries can offer broadband internet as a utility (just like electricity or something)
watch the news and tech tv or search it out on google

yuck i certainly don\'t kiss my modem it is placed inside a dusty closet where all the power gas and water enters the house. I do not like the taste of dust in my mouth (how do U call such a thing in english?? a metercloset??)
