A fight system would be handy, not to mention fun. So let\'s make one. Let\'s see what we have to work with:
-> Character Stats (edited when we created our character)
-> The /me command
-> The /roll command
Hmm...that should be enough, I think. Ok, here\'s an off-the-top-of-my-head idea of how the system would work:
Each player would have a set amount of hitpoints based on their Endurance (20 Endurance = 20hp?). A player is knocked unconcious when the hitpoints reach 0, and dies (?) if they reach -10.
A battle would commence as follows:
After the players each decide that they want to fight (They agree OOCly) then both players roll a Will (or agility) test. This could be done by allowing 1d3 per Will point, for example. The player with the highest cumilative roll gets to go first.
The players then take it in turn to bash at each other.
A turn:
0) The attacker describes what move he is going to try and make (e.g. /me swings his sword at PlayerX\'s torso).
1) The attacker rolls 1d3 per strength point.
2) The defender rolls 1d3 per agility point.
3) If the attacker rols highest, there is a hit. If the defender rolls highest, there is a miss (On a miss the turn is over)
4) The attacker then rolls 1d2 per strength point. To this roll an extra few points should be added depending on what weapon(s) the character has equipped (+1 for a mug, + 5 for a normal sword, etc)
5) The defender rolls 1d2 per endurance point.
6) Deduct the defender\'s roll from the attacker\'s roll: The result is the amount of damage in hp done.
7) The attacker and defender switch roles and the turn starts all over again.
The fight could last until a player is unconcious, dead, or the fight is stopped somehow.
The fight could also be made more interesting if player\'s performed \'special moves\' such as /me tries to kick sand in PlayerX\'s eyes.
Of course, in such cases, players would need to improvise on rolls (Attacker\'s Charisma vs. Defender\'s Intelligence to distract opponent, etc.).
Again, this is just a suggestion off the top of my head at 1 am. I\'d like to know what you guys think about it.
And yes, this does require a certain amount of maturity on both player\'s sides. I mean, let\'s try to keep away from \"/me tries to rip PlayerX\'s head off! My strength vs. your endurance. And plus ten because I have a sword.\"
Hmm...If this gets positive feedback we should try and come up with a way to use magic, too.
