Ok, I am gunna try to help solve this problem. The first step that I see is to find out which radeon cards are affected. If you have a Radeon card and you get problems with DirectDraw, OpenGL, or experience game crashes with any ATI dll, please post ONLY YOUR card type.

Please do not post spam here. Only post a few words. Example:

Series Number: 7500
Pci or Other: PCI
Memory Size: 64 MB
Notes about errors you are getting: DirectDraw Problems

If all of you can help to organize this, this would be great.

If you have a variation of a card listed, please say that. For instance, if you have a 7500 PCI desktop with 128 MB and we only have the 64MB listed, please post your information. This is to determine which family number it is AND if there is a memory issue.

All in All, the Radeon 7500 Series of cards are affected the worst. I have not seen any posts about any other Radeon cards....

Weither there is a problem with Ati\'s drivers or if it is Planeshift itself, this will be resolved one way or another.

This isn\'t meant to be spam but I did notice that you were trying to use Open GL mode on a comp with only 566mhz and your graphics card is PCI not AGP. I don\'t know if it is a ATI issue or more of an issue that your system can\'t handle running in Open GL mode.

this is a widespread issue, it is not directly focused on me specifically, even though I occasionally do crash and have problems, especially with directdraw. Once I get my alienware dream machine out of my tax return, we\'ll see....

and my system can handle opengl.... dont worry... sometimes the old computers defy the current standards and beliefs...

Yes I do know its a problem with some people. I have an ATI card in one of my computers and I never saw an issues. I guess I was addressing your problem more specifically. It does take some decent specs to run in Open GL and I was just guessing that that might have been your issue. I don\'t know if the issue will exist anymore in CB so I don\'t know how much time I would spend on trying to figure it out but good luck anyway.

glxinfo reports that DRI is indeed in use.

I can connect but i get segfaults whenever i change viewpoints.   sometimes i get a segfault upon characer load.   seem to only be successful in loading the world when in fullscreen mode.

so far i haven\'t been able to move around at all, but i have only been working on this for a couple of days so i suppose it is too early to say for sure if it is a problem with the video card or a problem with my build.

hope this helps.  i\'ll post more when i get my problems worked out.

pssetup.exe wont innitiate cuz of directdraw on my 9800xt

But I can run PS on my laptop just fine.

My low mem causes some FPS problems in the plaza, but other than that I don\'t have any big issues.  (I\'ll upgrade the RAM eventually...)

I had serious problems when I upgraded my drivers to the newest ones their site.  If your ATI drivers are giving you issues, go to www.omegadrivers.net to get theirs instead of the official ones.  I\'ve been using them for a few weeks, and they seem to be quite good.  Hopefully, this will solve your problems.
