Thardin's 3d models
« on: March 05, 2004, 03:56:27 pm »
Ok, in the past few days I have added some 3d meshes to LWW, all made in wings3D.
Please tell me what you think of them. Every comment welcome. :)

Throwing knife (first model... not very good I think)

Hi-Res: http://home.planet.nl/~eetge000/3dModels/throwing_knife.png

Simple knife:

I rendered it with shadows and self shadows on, so it looks a bit silly. ;)

Flask:

Recurve bow:

Hi-Res: http://home.planet.nl/~eetge000/3dModels/recurve_bow/recurve_bow_hq.png

Tell me what you think, and where I could improve. :)

PS. At the time I write this my ISP subscribers web pages are down, but this is very rare and is probably over in a few minutes... *FIXED*

cool.

If im not mistaken, the throwing knife has something enscribed into it... Was that textured? I so how did you texture in wings?

Q: How many Planeshifters does it take to expalin a simple concept to a newb?
A: Six. Five to argue on who\'s explanation is right, and Moogie to lock the thread.

No, that was a very high polygon render error. I wish I could texture in wings, than it would be the best 3d modeller program ever imo. :)

Actually I read somewhere you could add texture in Wings...but it was so complicated I didnt bother to figure it out. You have to select the whole object, right-click and go to UV Mapping or something like that.

I found out how to do it. Some cool guy explained it, and it is quite simpel. I will open a new thread in this forum. It is that cool and easy! :)

*BUMP*

I just made this:

I need your input before I texture it, what would you change? So far it has only got 220 polygons, so there is still room for some more. :)

I love bows too and there are way too few bows on LWW, so I decided to make another one. I will post here too when I finished it.

The bow is about 80 to 100 centimeters long, compared to the 180 to 200 centimeters for a recurve and long bow. This way it can be used on a horse back, but watch out you don\'t cut your horse! ;)

This one is completely textured. I will add some details to the woord texture. Add some red and black paint near the blades.

You should make 2 different bows from that model with the spikes on the head.

1. A bow with the spikes (heavier than the spikeless bow, but more accurate)

2. A bow without the spikes (lighter, a bit faster but not so accurate)
Call me Anatheus The White.
