We will have giant bats, they are called megaras. Its amazing that so many people\'s \"original\" ideas have already been planned to be in PS years before...People should read the site...

I would just be happy with 18ft boat to work as a fisherman on. not interested in destroying other ships, but more interested in making money from the waters.

I had an idea for a completely different way of doing transportation. Supposing the carts had feet and walked around. That they were produced by magic out of animal parts. So, if you had a breakdown, say one of the legs went lame, you would have to go kill a monster to harvest its leg so you can fix your cart. I\'m pretty sure this hasn\'t been done before and it would be completely original to planeshift if they incorporated it.

It might be quite disgusting for a character to break off a leg of another formerly living creature. Similar to the \"I don\'t want to summon just *any* normal skeleton \" Thread. It depends on the morals of each character and player when it comes down to the \'harvesting body parts.\' And of course, the type of leg might influence many decisions, such as how effective the walking cart is and how disgusting the method of obtaining the new leg is.

How is the cart supported? Mana out of your stockpile? Or is it self-sufficient, so that it sustains itself and consequently may run when in danger?
You pay the same price for doing something halfway as for doing it completely. So you might as well do it completely.

Perhaps you could just have a little row boat or something to begin with.

Or...

Ships are a terrific idea and could make travel, trading, and leisure(pirating the high seas in my case) come much easier than before. I also like the idea of riding sea creatures, they could become familiars/companions. As for carts that walk, I dont think Yliakum is quite ready for carts w/ feet.
After a 14+ hour download at about 4 kbps, I finally downloaded and installed CB. Now if I could only figure out how to work the darn setup and character creation!

Carts with wheels sound good for traders and travel, and ships for sea travel sound great too.

Not sure on how it would be done but I think it would be great if a ship could be controlled (by rudder or wheel) not sure about sails but maybe a crew in certain places are needed to move a boat (npcs instead maybe?).

Anyway back to the cart, would be interesting to see what animals could be used to pull a cart as well.

Pity nobody likes dragons, surprising how one creature has been focused on yet elves and dwarves aren\'t seen as unoriginal... then again what is original.

Do not repeat the tactics which have gained you one victory, but let your methods be regulated by the infinite variety of circumstances.

Id like to see creatures pulling carts. This also goes along with the capturing npcs idea, because you could make them carry or pull your cart along (depending on the creature).

I *demand* ships, boats, rafts and sea creatures of all sorts!!!

If not for anything else, if I\'m not completely mistaken, there\'s going to be a few levels (of the stalactite we inhabit!) compltetely flooded - so there ARE going to be sea creatures anyway.

I\'d *love* to see water vessels of any kind that actually work - I don\'t mind having transport spells and portals - but I want to have the ability to do it the non-magical way too. It adds some charm to the role playing if the journey takes you some time (which sailing should :]) ...hack\'n\'slashers usually want to have it quick and dirty - pay 100 gold, jump into the portal, slay the monsters, loot, jump through the portal again :(

If not, you\'ll see me swimming all over the place! ...yea that\'s right! I\'ll SWIM to the other shore!! ...see how you cope with that! ...even the bloomin\' \"ocean\"!!!

I love this idea so much that I will probably make a model of some canues & different sort of bouats, something common that you do not see every day with a fantacy flaer...

But that will be after I\'m done with my other projects & we acually have some water we can sail on...

I\'ll probably be the one to make the underwater map but I am not sure... can\'t wait for that!
