That includes sheats for weapons :P

You could put some stuff in your pockets.. but really not that much, maybe a few potions and spells or something. My point was that most games just overdo it, there\'s really no way you can carry 5 axes in your \"inventory\" and still have a realistic story behind it.. you just have to buy extra container objects like sheats, bags, carts etc.

ok, make it swords behind belt, not in sheaths... same thing :P
and yea, games overdo. But they are still more realistic than max 2 weapons/tools in inventory...

I\'m all for a realistic game, but one where you can\'t even haul back a good lot of loot from a monster hunt is no fun. And tell me, how many warriors drag carts to a monster hunt? Hmm?

Exactly why there\'ll be no open PK either. Don\'t you read? :P

I think if somebody logs off and leaves their cart standing around, they deserve to have it looted. :) It\'s not grief causing, it\'s just the same as being careless in combat and dying as a result.

i think we need to wait to see what pvp, pk and thieving rules are set in stone before we just start guessing about this kind of stuff. makes it pointless when we throw ideas around and say one is more valid than the next. for all we know we can kill anyone we want to anywhere we please with a giant pink dragon raining down sulfur and lollipops. But back to OT i think that if someone can steal some hard earned loot from MY cart, or my inventory, there should at least be an option to tear that bugger limb from limb. What fun is it where a thief is protected by law to not attack in town or in non PK, PVP places. There should be an options that if someone steals soemthing from you and you notice or are aware of it, you can challenge him to a duel that he cannot back out of. if he has enough agility and he is a skilled thief, then he can run away from the fight w/ out a scratch.

well actually it was said that we\'ll be able to kill people in duels, guildwars and free pvp zones.
And we know we can\'t kill people with a giant pink dragon, as like it was said: there won\'t be dragons in Planeshift... :]

Should the carts have secret compartments? What should be in them? Explain.

Should there be decoy carts, to trick a guild enemy to attack the fake merchants (actually warriors wearing merchant clothing)? Explain.

Should the carts have the ability to explode? Explain.

That\'s enough questions for now. Applaud my pathetic attempt at sounding like a textbook... Or walk away in disgust.

You pay the same price for doing something halfway as for doing it completely. So you might as well do it completely.

I think it would be cool to have mobile shops that people could pull around and bring near dungeons if they are strong enough to defend themselves from nearby creatures. They could jack up their prices so they would make a tidy profit since no one would want to run back to town for a potion.

As for jackable carts-I think they should only be jackable when the player is in game. It is ridiculous to have to store your cart somewhere, what if you can\'t afford a house? It wouldn\'t make the game more fun, it is like saying you should be able to be pickpocketed why you are offline. Just causes grief, wheres the skill in stealing an abandond cart?

So where does a player go exactly when they log off?

When one logs off are they open to attack? Does a empty shell stand there taking up space?

Logically a cart, or a pet, or a horse, or what ever is an extension of the player and would go where ever the character goes upon log off.

The characters Body dissipates into tiny particles and floats high above the city where it cannot bother people, the sould remains where the player was, savoing the location

Just make a cart similar to any other piece of equipment: If you log out, the cart logs out together with you :)

To those of you who think carts should be able to be stolen from/flat-out hijacked:
What if the server doesn\'t like me that day?
What if my computer doesn\'t like me that day?
What if reality doesn\'t like me that day?
What then?  It\'s hardly fair.
