Looking for assistance
« on: March 13, 2004, 04:27:06 pm »
I need a favor from some talented artist here, can anyone create a picture of a armored hand like the one of Sauromons off Lord of the Rings but alot shinier! It would be flat and in the very palm have the letters CE reflect. Almost as if its not even inscribed on the metal but bouncing from another object! I am looking for it to be really realistic :D If anyone has spare time and would like to help me out I would very much appreciate it, because god knows if I even tried to draw that it would turn out to be a elephant or something :P

well your implying that this is for some fan art you are trying to create. there are some things i think you should consider before pasting on some hand someone created for you

1. a good part of artistry is learning how to adapt. if your not good at drawing hands, try to imagine an angle where hands are down played and not as out there as a dramatic shot.

2. a good fun part of being an artists is sitting back and looking at it and thinking \"wow, i created that\" I dont think you would get the same feeling if you looked back and knew that not all of it was your work.

3. giving credit to another artist for partial work on a piece of artwork is pretty tricky.

i dont know, im not much of a realistic sketchest so i cant say that i could make the type of hand your looking for. just thought you could think about these things before just asking everyone to make a hand for you...

I understand whelmy :) I would not take a inch of credit for anything made for me and this would end up being a coat of arms for a guild so you would be doing a HUGE favor. I am not telling people they have to, I am asking for help...Everyday I come on here and see so many talented artists showing off there work, figured maybe someone would take up the offer as a challenge maybe?

bah you act like my art is an abonation or something. MOst think it is quite good and even more so given the circumstances in lack of software. I can draw realistic things but i choose to do more cartoonish things. in fact if you look at some of the newer things in my thread you will see im starting to dabble in more realistic portrayals. its really not bad at all, in fact how much art have you done drak? :P

as for the last part:
a bit, I was quite good at drawing, but then I got into coding. Years passed and I suck at drawing now :P

I just sketched out a little something of what I was hoping it would look like :D This is some what crappy but theres the basic idea of it and then to have the metal shaded properly and stuff would be the icing on the cake!
