Moogie, BlackBox is free, and extremely easy to use.  If you want to customize your menu or add plugins (window skinner for example)  there is a small bit of very easy coding to do.  It is mainly just copying and pasting.  It is well documented, and very easy to use.  Don\'t let it intimidate you.  The only problems I\'ve had with it is that it doesn\'t run Max 5/6 which I don\'t think you will have a problem with.  URL to BlackBox is bb4win.org.  It is also on sourceforge, and I have a link to it on my website as well.

And btw, if you ever have problems with a shell and need explorer to come back, Ctrl+Alt+Del>Task Manager, then end the shell process.  Then go File>NewTask(Run) and type \"explorer.exe\"   That should bring it back up.

edit:  If you really don\'t like coding I can do it for you.  It would probably take me 5 minutes max to set up a custom menu file so long as I know what you want on it and directory paths.  Plugins are just a matter of putting the plugin in the right folder, and then adding a sort of link in the main plugin file.

Here is my desktop on the computer I model with, & yes I made that desktop picture myself in 3DsMax:


This is my mom\'s computer, (my desktop:)


& my mom\'s Desktop:

(that\'s a picture of my little sister btw...)

As you can see, HP provides many additional icons to your desktop because I just re-installed Windows on both computers...

I used to mod HW2 before coming to PS, I used to only play the original HW for a for all of 2000 got good @ making maps & exterminating whoever I crossed...

The last level is sooo simple if you salvage all the Ion Cannon frigates guarding that base in one of the earlier levels...

Zeraph, those icons look huge. What resolution are you using??

I\'ll try out that Blackbox shell as soon as I fix my laggy mouse problem. :D

Well, my mom seems to be nearly blind (it gives her a headache if it\'s smaller is what I mean), she likes to be able to see her icons, these large fonts are driving me crazy!

I do not know why but most of the settings cannot be changed on one desktop without them changing on another...

the screen res is: 1024 x 768, however this just recent change from 800 x 600 & she is complaining on how small everything got so I had to make everything \"Big\" like it was in the smaller res...

1024 x 768 is all my older computer can handle but mom\'s can do to 1600 x 900

This is my links bar I constantly have on IE:

I never use the desktop, I usually have to many windows running. I have PS in my start menu so It\'s only 2 clicks away aswell...
