Liscense for all jobs

I strongly believe that all jobs listed on the main website require you to have an official license to start a more in-depth practice in that field by quests.

For example:
Bob can level up his alchemist skills and do regular alchemist stuff but when he becomes an \"official alchemist,\" he gets an official alchemist license and he can maybe recieve a key into the alchemist guild house to get special recipes or something.

Having a job is something that you should earn and be proud of.

Guilds are really ungoverned by planeshift.

But one of the responsibility of guilds should be to assign titles and grades to it\'s members.

THe guild sould police it\'s members to assure the quality of each title.  Otherwise such titles would soon become meaningless.

like Samoth said Guilds are player created, but the guild of alchemists (if there ever will be) could give out secret recipes to advanced players.

Hmm... Perhaps to gain a license, the player would have to ask a NPC for the license. The player would have to somehow prove they are competent, such as a quest/mission, doing the job under restrictions, etc. The exception would be guild members, in which case the guild leader will assign the licenses. Or have someone else do so for him/her.

And if you decide to sabotage the job area, then obviously, you are fired. Which is a bad thing unless you were paid to sabotage and didn\'t care about being fired...

sorry not the guild as in the Blitzers guild or Rangers guild but the job guilds in-game.

As far as i know, they will not be any NPC-leaded guilds. And i think this is a good thing. If you want to sell goods, you\'ll need to ask a stupid NPC (of course after a thousand \'I don\'t understand what you want...\') a license and maybe even pay for it? and what will be the advantages?
- skill restriction? This sucks, is unrealistic and adds no fun value.
- being able to sell to NPC? weird...
- being able to sell to players? Players aren\'t forced to follow NPCs rules when they buy things.

No i really don\'t like it. A certification which is only informationnal (The bearer of this diplom is certified to be able to do useful potions of quality... or stuff like that) can be correct though.

But that\'s just like the title system, which adds a title to your name when you reach a certain skill level.
I think that would be cool, but let\'s not start that discussion all over again. ;)

bah we don\'t need licenses for jobs, what if the job is something like gatherer? (collecting items from the wild)
