If you want power, use bursts (red)
If you want control, use mind (azure)

Lasers are weak AND costly AND hard to control. No reason that the Nasa never ended its stupid project

Uh, I thought the first post said ?hypothetically!!!!!!!!!?
No Laser spells have been mentioned to really exist in game nor was there any talk ?till recently- of them being a game aspect. The question was: if there were a spell that acted laser like what kind of magic would it be? Light (being good) or Dark (being bad)? When did this become about putting them in?
This in no way changes that a real laser can do extreme amounts of damage -no matter what you think you?ve read I?ve seen them burn through three inch plates of steel in seconds- and are made of light. But the question was I?ll quote.

HYPOTHETICALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <------

If there was some sort of laser magic like a spell that shoots a laser beam, what type of magic would that go under? I remember in Chrono Trigger, Robo had a laser and the old dude in the time portal said that it Robo\'s laser is considered shadow magic or in this case dark magic.

Would a laser be considered dark magic? If you believe differently or if you have any opinions on what type of magic \"laser\" magic should be, please reply.

EDIT: sorry, I mean also the laser beam is pure light, with no elemental properties, just a very hot laser that burns.
[/SIZE] Again I say Light because:
A: it is highly organized.
B: it is made of light and energy.
And in the case of a Way since you all seem to need to speak about it that way.
Crystal, for this simple reason: ?pure light with no elemental properties?

but the only logical Way it can be considered to be in is Crystal, not Red Way, because Red is Chaos and Chaos isnt organized.

you cant see it with your eyes, hold it with your hand, like the wind it covers all land, this thing called love.
It can lift you up never put you down, take your world and turn it all around.
Ever since time nothings ever been found
thats stronger than love

pff.. I was hoping that this thread would have been gone after a while..

Druke, HOW do you think all these other ways can be light, like I(and other people) already said a hundred of times, LASER == LIGTH (that\'s what the L stands for..).

Gumster: stop repeating what other people have said all the time..

Ok, back to topic (i was going a bit ot in my lasts posts)

No, i don\'t agree with the previous posts.

A magic laser isn\'t forcely organized. Real life ones are, but you can\'t really see it when you look at it, so why wanting PS implementing organized crystals?
A laser is just a thin beam which go straightforwards. Red can cast beam of fire, Azure can use rays of command ...

Why?

This only a question of naming. If this is a thin beam, it is.
If this is something who was invented in the last century and that require high-tech stuff, it is not but lasers have nothing to do in Yliakum magic then. We are not a technologic world. Things can be named similar if they behave similar and look similar (thin beam who go straightforward for a laser). There\'s no reason to define something according to what it is constitued.

well I have nothing else to say than go and read the starting post. Especially the first word. It was made so visible for a purpose you know. Oh, and while yer at it, read the rest of it: Laser, a beam of light - what type of magic would it be.

That\'s not because the first post states a laser is a beam of light that we are forced to agree on this. And as you may have noticed, i don\'t. This is a forum, we can discuss and argue, even if we don\'t agree with the first post.
So i still say that a laser isn\'t forced to be made of light, as long as it looks similar.

in this moment you are going off-topic.
The topic of discussion is if there was a laser spell (which would be a pure beam of light) then what magic type would it go under.
