my guild, the Living Shadows

We are an equal oppurtunity non-aligned guild which is ruled by it\'s ruling member and high council. Our goals shift with the decisions of the council and ruler. If we have under 4 council members then we are temporarily a monarchy. By saying our branches are armies does not mean we are a warrior\'s guild but that we organize our guild into groups of people who do a simalar job, for example we may have an \"army\" of merchants, cooks, etc.

hmm... what about general goals? \"get a functioning Shadowcouncil\" won\'t get you many members...
People need a reason to join in the first place.

the problem though is if the shadowcouncil and shadowmaster vote together to decide the goals and there is no shadowcouncil then there is a problem. True, we are a monarchy with under 4 council members but i\'m a bit... undecisive sometimes and don\'t want to risk a non-aligned guild looking evil because of one stupid mistake... it\'s a diplomatic decision. (edit: would changing it to \"gain power\" help, do you think?)

Well you need the goal that will unite all members and will make it something more than mindless zombies following the decisions of council.
To gain power... hmm... not oryginal and makes you look a bit evil
How about to gain land and a bit of power, by using neutral (diplomatic, merchant) ways along with military movements if needed?

by power i meant manpower as in more people but unspecified because if left unspecified it will attract power hungry individuals as opposed to the few if any members at all it is currently attracting...

When Draklar is talking about your goal, he means, what is your purpose? Is it to help the poor? To ignore the world? To see how many monsters you can kill? Or it could simply be to live peacfully trying to get by. Or defend your realm from evil. These are things that can\'t really be accomplished, they are just your purpose for living. You have on your page...Goals: To \"gain recognition in the world of Planeshift for us and our members\", to \"help our members do their best in the Planeshift proffesion of their choosing,\" to \"get a functioning Shadowcouncil\", and to \"Recruit more members\" What will happen when you do these things? You would have no purpose for going on...

Your pupose could be as simple as us mercenaries\'; profit. You could be trying to serve some god, divine or demonic. You could be trying to explore the world. You could be aiming to rule the world, or even defend it. You could even have some crazy goal like trying to become an imortal god yourself whom all worship. You could be trying to find some ancient artifact lost through the ages. You could be trying to help the poor and needy, Robin Hood style. Or you could just try and subjugate the poor and needy, sheriff of notingham style. You could try and protect mother nature, become the greenpeace of planeshift.

There is an infinite number of possible goals, the more original you are, the more people are going to respect you.

Your goal could ba as simple as thriving. The Circle of Legends, from the begining, had the goal of being the leading hand in PS prosperity through friendship and trust, and to thrive in its world. Not too complex, but still enough to be a constant goal. Being friends or thriving could mean different things at different times.

you could be allied with cabal but * dodges some eggs * its a risky job and if you dont comply we will most likely put spies in your guild suck all information and then destroy it or just put spys in it and suck out all information

The council helps decide the goals, I need atleast 1 more councilmember, preferably evil because I need balance in the council, and the current 3 members are good/neutral

I don\'t care if no one joins right now, I don\'[t care If I\'m the only active member I WILL NOT let this guild die, so if anyone\'s looking for a guild that refuses to die...

also, sorry for the double post no one responded and the thread wouldn\'t be moved up if i only changed my previous post and I didn\'t want to make a new thread because, that would be a waste of space, I mean if any thread i make gets ignored it should be one that already is, right? Also, the reason I didn\'t get to update sooner was that the computer I was using couldn\'t post here, i needed to use someone elses computer...

Well heh good luck with that! Its not like theres that many people to recruit right now anyways and your always taking a chance of spies and what not but who cares :P When you find out who they are give them the b00t and move on! Oh no youz got my inf0rmation that is so l33t!! DEVASTATION!!!
