Not saying I believe this, but you have no reason to complain if it is indeed true.
I\'m going to pretend you didn\'t say that.

And 3rd person may not be as immersive, but YOU try driving a vehicle around or swinging a sword from 1st person view.  In a game that is.  It\'s not very fun.
Ninjas have feelings too.  Mostly they feel like dancing.

Yup, the devs have been discussing it for a while now and it seems a sensible course of action. I like the new change of direction and hope to see some more wonderful movies of Kran-blasting action. :D

rofl

I check the forums before the news page...
I wondered what the heck you were talking about.  :P  :D

Does this mean the devs have spare time? *nudge-nudge wink-wink*  :P

Believe it or not I had Deja-vu about this thread.
Of course, at the time, I couldn\'t understand it.
Part of the deja-vu was this thread getting deleted. :P

(No, seriously...)

Well, the sci-fi would fit in well with the written but unposted material I have for my character.  :D

I\'m confused...

I\'m not against the sci fi aspect, but I do like fantasy more. And the first person thing. I\'m more accustomed to third person.

First person is no more realistic then third person in the least bit. First person would be about like if you have a neckbrace on. You can glance down at and look around quickly in real life. You can not even get close to imatating this, even with mouse look.
All hail Vengeance and Link, friends forever.

1) A mmorpg project is really too complex for a OS team.
2) I\'ve investigated on the morale of the team, and it seems that most of them is against a fantasy game, basically they are very bored of spells, swords, orcs, etc...

heh now the thing is, those 2 statements even though an april fool could easily happen. 1 is a very deffinate pitfall and number 2 does happen regulary. The mod team im working for ran into both a while back. Although we aint doing an mmorpg.

Maybe a hybrid?
« Reply #29 on: April 02, 2004, 06:51:03 am »
It\'s about 1/2 and 1/2 for fantasy and futuristic, modern and medivel, etc. etc. Maybe as a compromise you could combine both? It could include guns, \'lightsabers\', and other high tech weapons with magic and such. As for races, it can have both real and fantasy races. If the devs aren\'t gonna have a fantasy type game, I\'m gonna go for a hybrid.
