This tale is of the Lemur World, and the events which drove part of this spirited people to the mysterious depths of Yliakum.
And with great valor.... the Lemur nation of Du\'Ordaria fought to the very end, until ruthless armies of the dreaded Ru\'Kraina Lemur nation swept through the war-torn fields of Du\'Ordaria.
It hadn\'t always been like this, Imeon remembered as he sat in the shabby make shift tent that had been taken when the capital city of Pliska had fallen. It hadn\'t always been this way, between these two countries. But Imeon knew that the Krainas would not settle for taking the rich country of Du\'Ordaria. No. They would sweep westward from the Loshar continent. They would sweep westward on their lait holy war until all Pazloini countries fell.
Ah, that dreaded continent from which they came... birthplace of the Loshar religion, the so called \'final religion\'. Well, it hasn\'t lived up to its promises yet. Its peoples still conqour in the name of their one God, and that God isn\'t even the Sun! How could they worship some mystical deity who gave them no tangible evidence of his existence?
Think, Imeon said to himself, think. There must be some way to defeat these Krainas, some way. After all, they just conquered the entire Loshar continent too. They had just defeated the only Pazloin country on the continent as well. They weren\'t Du\'Ordaria\'s friends, rather they were sworn enemies, but they were still a Pazloin country, believing in the Sun God, Tangra. There has to be some insurgents there as well as here in Du\'Ordaria. There should be some weaknesses there, shouldn\'t there?
Even now, Imeon could not believe what had happened. The great nation of Du\'Ordaria, fallen? How? The nation with at least 1,000 years of history behind it? The nation which had won the amazement of all the Pazloini countries by striking impossible defeats on all of its enemies? Impossible!
\"Pay attention! How do you expect to drive back these
vatduns if we don\'t all know their strengths and weaknesses?\"
\"I\'m sorry, Avitohol!\"
\"As I was saying. Our situation is dire. We are facing complete domination. The enemy has swept in from the eastern continent, conquering the So\'Orkat Pazloin country. We can expect no help from there. It is up to us to restore the our country. We cannot fail. For over 2,000 years, the name Du\'Ordarian has been a special previlege to us. Now, it is in our hands to decide whether history remembers us as victors, or gallant losers.\"
Suddenly, the warning horn sounded, and yells could be heard in the dry, summer air.
\"Kraina raiders! Due east from the main tent! Spearmen, to the vantage point! Archers, on their flanks!\"
Imeon ran out of the tent as he heard his orders. He was just grabbing his supple bow when he felt Avitohol\'s strong grip.
\"You must leave, Imeon. Our efforts here will fail. We are few, and they are many. The Ordarian people will need a leader to help them preserve their courage and pride in themselves and their ancestors. Go! Make sure that the great deeds of the past are not forgotten! Here are the sacred annals of the Du\'Ordari. Protect them at all costs, for in them lies the history, heritage, and culture of our people.\"
So Imeon ran. At first, he ran with no clear direction in mind, he just needed to get away from that awful place. He came to many towns and villages, all of them affected in some way or another by this long and terrible war. One day, he wandered into the small town of Korort, and headed to the tavern. As soon as he stepped foot in the tavern, he knew he had reached destination.
\"Oi, Bartender!\" Imeon yelled. \"Give me your hardest stuff.\"
\"Just \'cause we just lost the war doesn\'t mean we should all lose our minds kid.\" The Bartender chuckled and gave Imeon a glass of water. He noticed the heavy object in the travel satch, and inquired about it.
\"What, this? This is a fool\'s errand. There\'s no way that I alone, will be able to do the task assigned to me.\"
\"Hey! Are you Ordarian or a swine? We follow through on our promises and never forget that there is always someone willing to help us! So tell me kid, what do you have to do?\"
