Waiting for CB, what about Lineage II?
« on: April 05, 2004, 03:48:57 pm »
Has anyone played Lineage II yet? Tell us about your experiences.

Seems like a great way to waste time until CB arrives. And, it seems like you can play a fully functioning beta.

Sorry if this is already under discussion in the forums, I didn\'t see it.

Lineage II write up at WarCry .

haven\'t played it, but the graphics look awesome (albeit a bit \"korean\") I\'ve seen a couple of ingame movies from it, and I must say that it\'s given me a positive impression :)

(can\'t beat Dragon Empires though :P)

Trickery? I\'m afraid to even ask. :P

Anyway, GS has a cool article about Lineage II. To read it, just trick --err-- click here . 8)

Xalthar, Dragon Empires does indeed look cool. Now I don\'t know which one to download.

Hook, Ryzom...ahah, hmm, yesss.  Interesting. Well, maybe the Lineage II serial number hasn\'t come yet because the game is supposed to be available for retail sales 28 April? Sometimes, betas end when the games ships although there are many examples where a beta actually serves as a demo dl to attract more customers. Hope so in this case.

And, hopefully, someone who is actually playing the Lineage II beta will post in this thread.  :P

From the heavens came a strange people with metal skin and luminous eyes. They descended on Yliakum in a ponderous ship of steel and fire. Their arrival sent a shock wave of fear throughout the town.  An Enki in heavy chains emerged from the ship followed by two soldiers, a more elegantly appointed one followed behind them. She levitated above the guards and prisoner to address the crowd: \"He is a convicted criminal. My government has sentenced him to one-hundred years of internment on your world. We will monitor him from time to time. If he causes you any trouble, kill him.\"  The officer motioned to the guards and three of the strangers withdrew to the fireship. The hellish craft shot into the sky leaving only fear and the prisoner Maaximus behind.

Trickery as in the fact that they put up a post or whatever saying something about a new game getting someone like me all excited, they show you some screenshots but then when you go to the actually game site its not FREE! Though thats probally not their fault, just mine for expecting everything in life to be free! I wish they would only post free games!! ;(

I have been playing Linegae II. Once I finally got it downloaded the servers were so full that I couldn\'t join any of the three. Thankfully they added two new servers and three more are on the way. It is actually a pretty fun game. It something to pass the time until the next release.

I\'m in the Closed Beta at the moment, and it\'s an awesome game. :) My favourite activity is just travelling out into a wide open plain, finding a herd of peaceful herbivores, and just being there with them... sometimes they approach me and sniff around to make sure I won\'t harm them. :)

Still awaiting the serial key. I read something that said they will not be handing many more out until they have orgainzed the mass amount of users already stockpiled.

OMFG, the Shadowfax man posteth. No. 27. 8)

Now, that\'s the kind of info I wanted to hear. Thanks. I\'m going to dl one of these games, keeping a tally of what players are saying here. What you said is something to be considered carefully before investing time in downloading, learning, troubleshooting, etc.

(You joined a guild? Weren\'t you gonna make your own? Oh wait, you might have that other  secret guild in Planeshift...shhhh!)

Aye, laddy, but how can ye be sure??

Ok, Aendar is another guy waiting on a serial number.

Can you say hack \'n\' slash, Aendar?

Before long I\'m just gonna dl this thing and hope we all don\'t have to wait very long. It would rock if we could all play together, if ppl wouldn\'t mind blowing off the RP aspect by talking about it.

Off topic:  who has the guts to sign up for CB without revealing who he/she is later? Most people won\'t do that, unfortunately.

Hack and slash is something I do in my free-time.  It\'s simply a time-killer.

It would be cool if we could all get in and join up in-game.

Besides....those dark-elves look too cool to not try out the game...

I for one, could not.

Perhaps you should ask some spy-alt\'ers. :P
