Air battles might be interesting... Of course, civil war within Yliakum is never a good thing, so those battles would have to take place in the Labryniths, which are rather enclosed. So levitation is feasible, but flying is limited (as stated in the Settings page of the PS site, I believe).
As for running out of mana, there is an idea I came up with called \'Mana Upkeep.\' A character could, perhaps, take some mana out of his/her/its stockpile of mana and use it to keep themselves afloat or adrift on the wind. I\'m too lazy to post the link, though.
