Hello Everyone!
« on: April 07, 2004, 02:35:19 am »
I am new here. Planeshift looks like a great game, but i\'ve heard that theres no battle system yet. thats ok as long as one is added later on when you get farther in the development. But i do have some questions.

1. The screenshots make it look like this game is first person like bond games. Can you play while seeing your character?

2. Is the  people here friendly?

3. Are the admins some kind of people that only post when they need to make an announcment or yell at someone, or answer a question? Do they act all important and talk like robots. Or do they have normal names for forums and fantasy games, and talk like regular people and not some kind of cop. I\'m not trying to offend any admins, its just a question.

Well thats it.  hope i become well known here.

Welcome to PS! :)

The battle system and mobs will be added in the next release of the game. This is expected to be released soon, although, no official date will be given to avoid people getting disappointed when they don\'t meet the deadline. All we can do atm is guess- and I\'d guess we have anywhere from 1-4 months left waiting time. :)

As for the answers to your numbered questions:

1. There are three viewmodes available in Molecular Blue; First Person, Third Person and Camera. So yes, you can play while watching your character on-screen. In the next release (codenamed: Crystal Blue) there is a new and greatly improved camera system, which can be seen in this sneakpeak movie.

2. The great majority of players here are very friendly and helpful people, thankfully. :) You\'ll have no problem finding friends in our community, I assure you.

3. The admins try to post here as frequently as possible and talk with their fans like regular people, even if they are extremely hard at work at the moment developing the next release of the game. They arn\'t employees on a payroll, however, so generally they\'re very friendly and like answering questions about the game. :)

See you around, Myst. :)

Yes, well it\'s hard for the rest of us to stop thinking of you as gods.  Although if we don\'t get our CB fix, you may find yourselves viewed as demons instead. :P

Is your name derived by the game Myst?  I haven\'t played it, but I have played Riven and Exile.  If your name is derived from it, what is the game like?

Heh, I love Myst.  Its the first strategy/rpg type game I ever played (never was into video games much) and it led me to look for mmorpgs.  But I\'m too cheap to pay and that\'s when I found PS.   :D

Played Myst and Riven but Exile\'s gui made me dizzy.       Maybe I\'ll get back to it someday.
