Why is this game right for me?
« on: April 10, 2004, 03:38:03 am »
I didnt get this game yet but i am wondering if i should. What makes this game so diffrent from others? Do u recommend it?
I always hated going to weddings because my Grandmas and Aunts would poke me in the ribs and say, \"your next\". They stoped doing that when i went to a funeral and did the same thing to them.

Of course I would recommend this game, but judging from your name, this might not be the game you are looking for. No offense, but SavageMan13 sounds like a no-roleplaying, hack-n-slash type of name. Maybe I shouldn\'t judge you like this, but your name gives the impression...

Indeed I do!

The fantastic community (devs and players) here alone and it\'s dedication to keep the game true to it\'s ideals, is reason enough. Not to mention the potential shown by the tech demo that you can download to see if it\'s your thing.....very soon to be followed by a much advanced version!

What games have you come from to arrive here?

The graphics so far are excellent for a free and opensource game. :) You can see screenshots on the main website, or by visiting the Random Screenshot link at the top of any forum page, or by downloading the movie that was recently posted in the News section.

PlaneShift is a game that hopes to focus more on the Roleplaying aspect than other games in the genre. Players will be encouraged to get fully immersed in the game world and not simply \"click\" \"click\" \"click\" all the time to do things. Also, combat is not an essential part of the gameplay... of course, much detail will be given to the combat system, but I mean you won\'t have to train your fighting skills if you don\'t want to. A powerful character could have no combat finess? whatsoever... he/she could be a famous merchant, or a legendary skilled craftsman, for example.

The developers hope to create a game that anyone will want to play, regardless of their chosen playstyle. Even hack\'n\'slashers like yourself. :) (That is, of course, if you think of a slightly more suitable name for your character... heh ;) )

I\'ve heard that it is similiar to Morrowind (a video game). Is that true?

It depends on what you consider \"simila\" to be, it is similar to Morrowind because it was full 3D graphics, and music, stuff like that. And it is a RPG (the whole killing monsters, making weapons, doing quests kind of thing), so yes it is like Morrowind, but it is more, there will be many players playing at the same time of course, its a MMORGP...

It\'s not really a game though... it\'s more like BowieWorld or some other 3-D free chatroom with different avatars, glitches to secret places, and alternating music to alternating places.  I wouldn\'t make any promises to the game\'s features, but it seems to be turning out pretty well.

No, i dont recomend you to play this game!
Joke...
Everyone will answer you the same here, because we all(atlest a big part of us) are PS fanatics. So... this is probobly not the right place to ask such questions.

Right now threre isnt much of the actual game, but some ppl get addicted to crystal hunting. Luckly i got over it by spending 1,5 months away from home, comp and PS :) Otherwise... i dont even want to think about it!

Besides that the community is realy cool :) I totaly recomend you to atlest try it. If you wont like it, it your problem! And always remeber - this is a mm game, not sp. The community plays a big role in it!
A new day, a new failure!
