I think it would be cool to have a natural birth, aging, and death process in PS. PCs could start out at about age 5, and they could require a certain amount of protection from a \"family\" of NPCs or other adult guardians up until the age of accountability (which, with this being a \"medeival\" game, could be about 15 years old). The same 3D model could be used for every age version of the PC, starting out with a very small version and making it grow larger over time, until it levels out at whatever age is appropriate for the given race.
There could be a separate set of quests and jobs for children, which would enable them to start building up XPs toward adulthood.
Once a PC reached old age, abilities would be effected, movement slowed, etc. Hair color could be changed to grey. Eventually, the PC could get a warning message, saying \"Due to the natural results of the aging process, this character will soon die.\"
This could enable the developers to include a system for wills, undertaker services, and other death-related issues.
It would also keep gamers aware of the value of life and the mortality of people--something which is lacking in other MMORPGs.
[[ Edit ]] -- After posting, I found this within the \"Compilation of Ideas\": Stages of Age/Experience (old thread, similar idea).
Sorry about not doing the search before starting the new thread.
