a theater
« on: April 16, 2004, 07:58:12 pm »
well because there isn\'t much to do in game right now i thought, Lets start a theater.
I asked around a bit and people sayd it was a good idiea.
Now i already have a little crew
(a story writer, and just 2 actors, but hey ist a start)
the only thing is that we need a place to preform our plays. So i suggest that the developers/programmers implemented a little theater/public building for groups like ours, to make PS a little bit more fun.

I\'ll act a bit for you, supposing I can get on at the right times.

Hopefully the whole world will be one giant improvisational stage. :)
Though I can see a theater when building is implemented, for now choose a place like the Gazebo or a large alley.  Make sure the choice you and your group makes is clear, that way people who want to see a play will associate plays and your theater company with that place.

Ooh yeah i forgot,
if any of you guy\'s are interested in joining my theater, or sponsoring it you can always contact me (in game i\'m called theudge). Ask around i think almost everybody has heard of my theater who has played recently. :)

Sorry for the many advertisements :)

I hope this is a good step in the developement of PS.
I also hope that people will think about how to make PS more fun, even without new updates or new versions.
?fcourse CB will be better than MB but let us make things as fun as it can be with the tools and brains we\'ve got now.

i hope more people will join my theater soon cause with just 3 actors (yes 3, i found a new actor today) i wont be able to set up a good theater.

There is.  Aineko\'s mods include a chatlog feature. ;)

How do you act in PS? You can\'t really get a view of what everyone around you is doing which makes it very difficult. And doesn\'t it take ages typing out all your lines?? I suppose you could mime. A game of charades would be quite funny actually, but you\'d get into trouble with things like how many words and so on.

They could have pre-made lines that you just add in! That way all the lines are rehearsed and sound proper!

OT: IceFalcon we are 5 each, deleted posts :(

Ooh!! A Theatre sounds really nice/fun. :D

If ya need another actor, count me in. Some people say I am funny(not a Dwarf though :-/)

Well, I do have a Dwarven Char; a Jayose family member. ;)

I would rather do them(plays, acts, scripts, etc.) in the temple cuz it has minimal lag. Very minimal. :)

well maybe that is something they should look into, copy and pasting should be aloud and a journal to write and keep information in for each character!

OT: Yah the number of my deletes gets higher everyday maybe some of my comments are just rude or unappropriate :D *shrugS*

If we could copy and paste it would be realy nice, cause now the actors have to type realy fast :(

We thought about preformances in the temple, but its a public place and if i will keep my theater running i have to pay the crew. I dont think that people will go out of the temple so we could preform.

I think this is a great idea, but I have a question.

How would you keep others from jumping into the middle of your production and disrupting things?

Yes i thougth about that problem before.
But i hope people will respect the rules of my theater.
Just like everybody speaks english and doesnt swear.

There will alway\'s be some funny guy who walks trough without paying (cause we can\'t stop him) and people will shout boooo, but as long as there are people who like the idea and come to the theater for fun, it will work.

If we just ignore those \"funny\" people and treat them as they do, i think/hope they will stop acting \"funny\".

For later versions you can perhaps convince the devs to support theater shows in the arenas. I mean the arenas from concept should support tickets for viewer. All what is needed is a way to leave without fighting.
