Looks good to me ;D. Maybe you could do something a little more with the textures... maybe make the handle leather wrapped or something. Maybe even a bit of depression on the blade/hilt

It looks a bit plain to me, but I think it\'s just because the handle\'s plain. Adding some sort of detail to the handle would help. Other than that, it looks great :)

2 problems

1. Dagger blade is to long for the handle look at the comparison makes it look like a short sword,

2.Dagger is plain. Most daggers are curvy as portrayed in this picture--->

Ah, Xelex is right, it does look like a short sword -- I had noticed before, but hadn\'t really noticed, if you know what I mean. However, I disagree with the statement \"daggers should be curvy\"; I feel that daggers are rather variable blades, more so than swords, and they don\'t need to be curvy to look nice. I also think that it\'s the blade length that makes it resemble a short sword, and not the simplicity.

Caught my mistake I meant to put that above it to see it was too long and made it look like a short sword but I edited that.
Yes you are right, not all daggers are curvy but it was actually a method created some time ago. Like the arrow when it goes into the victim it will get caught and if you pull it out it will snag and rip skin. That is why most daggers have that design of the curves.

ok ill test how it will look if i put some wraped leather on the handle in the morning.
and for the length yes it does look more like a dagger than a sword if i shorten it but if i where to go after my ref pic then it is spot on
http://www.weaponmasters.com/index.html?ID=b47534e3628aeb009dd189ad2c22440b&SORT=PRICE_UP&ITEM=MR1-360
here is both the long and the short version

and actualy most daggers are straight it is the knives that are wierd shaped most of the time as Xelex example
(dagger=double edged knife=single edge)
and yes i know its plain but that is how i wanted it to be ill see if i can find somthing less plain to model later on
well now it is off to bed for me

Knifes are straight you fool. Have you never seen a dagger in your entire life? What you drew was a long knife or a short sword, next time please label correctly.
Also in my signature is a picture of a knife I already posted a picture of a dagger above. Stare at them note the differences observe and realize.

Knife... dagger... who cares, really? We all know what we mean. If this were a professional project, I could see where nitpicking would be productive. I\'m not trying to downplay Fredrik\'s project, but the time spent debating on whether the blade is a knife or a dagger could be put to better use. :)

here is the leather clad version

and about that dagger/knife issue i did look it up and yes i was wrong but so where you so read and learn as i did :)

Dagger
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

A dagger is essentially a special form of knife, where the tang is placed along the center line of the blade.

A dagger is more a weapon made for thrusting than a tool for slicing and cutting. Historically daggers were important secondary weapons in Europe during the Middle Ages and the renaissance.

Often a dagger is fairly long, and some may verge on being of sword length. Most daggers are double edged, although there are exceptions - for example a rondel commonly had only one edge.

So we were both wrong. That desn\'t change my mind about what I think it should look like. Nevertheless fairly good for a knife.
