contact out of game; Vuduk@hotmail.com <- add me to msn if you dont have me, im pretty easy to get hold of.
and better yet, try #planeshift-gms on freenode.net - pretty much always at least one of us in there.

The person who has been a nuisance mentioned above is behaving for the large part now and I know of most of their alias. This is the same person generally being an ass alround.

Mayia has recently been made a gm to do the mid afternoon times, and I usually cover the morning few hours with no problems, agara and harvey should be back soon though I think.

How about making an organized schedule for the times GMs have to be on?
The PS community (like most online communities) is based all around the world, so it shouldn\'t be hard to find someone that will be able to be on at times that in another country people usually aren\'t awake.

Ask every GM what times they can usually be on, and then tell them wich hours in wich days of the week they should be on.

e.g. GM1 on Sundays from GMT 0:00 to 6:00. GM2 from 6:00 to 12:00 etc.
Of course, it doesn\'t prevent GMs from being online in the times they\'re not scheduled for. And if a GM is sick, or have to go somewhere or something, he can always ask from one of the GMs on IRC to replace him.

If I understand the current way of things, the GMs just come online whenever they want, and log out whenever they want, and occasionaly kick trolls out. Pretty chaotic.

We got by with no gms at all for a very long time, far longer than weve had gms, so I find it hard to believe things are as bad as people make out, especially as I only have to punish someone around once a week (and often the same person/persons)

A system is in place for CB regarding Gms so things should not be a problem.

It\'s hard to play a game that freezes your system after 10 minutes of play, requiring a complete reboot. That is both why I don\'t play MB now, and why I uninstalled it earlier.

Seeing as I have nothing important to do lately, I\'ll have another go at trying to get to the bottom of my problem. But if I can\'t, there\'s not much I can do about it.

[Edit: Ahaaa... all I seem to be getting now is a Microsoft Error Report. Something\'s gone right for me... it\'s been so long... *weeps*]

As a side note, I want to say welcome to all the new GMs, and hope that everyone is aware of the GM rules and guides in Kada\'s tavern. :)

The reason why the \"GM Force\" isn\'t always around is because they are not real GMs, they\'re simply players who have accepted to boot players who are annoying, if they happen to be on while it happens. Since the GM\'ing abilities and functions are not really implemented in MB, and the fact that the whole squad will have all powers removed with the coming of CB, and the fact that they are not really GMs, just players with mod powers means noone has really thought carefully about who gets applied, and if the people really are suited for the purpose. As for now, they are intended to just be around whenever they can and boot people who don\'t play nicely. However, in the future it will be more professionalized with schedules and minimum amounts of hours ingame, etc., etc.. Just keep in mind that GMs in MB are not really GMs at all, they\'re players like you, me and everyone else. They just have the ability to boot the ones who steal their crystals... I mean, say bad stuff. :)

[Note: I think that post is messed up, but nonetheless, GMs are not bad people for not being around, as they are not forced to be around. Not by their responsibilities, and not by the devs. They\'re still only players.]

Nah, my system has a whole host of problems, not to mention a virus that\'s hooked up to most of my files so I can\'t get rid of it. (Don\'t bother suggesting things... believe me, I\'ve tried everything you could think of. Just visit the Aliathi forums, there\'s an entire thread about it there). If I switched OS I can just see everything collapsing in on itself. :(

I had an idea to help people who need to get in touch with GMs. Kwartz has posted his contact above... perhaps we could make a sticky thread with every GM\'s email address or something? Not everyone has to take the risk of posting their email on a forum, but it would be useful if all those that do can be gathered in one thread for the betterment of the ingame enviroment. Any thoughts about this?

You have to remember not everyone\'s computer is able to run IRC, PS, and messenger\'s at the same time.  I know mine can\'t.  which means for me I\'d have to minimize PS, start hopster, start MIRC, connect, go to the chan find a GM, close MIRC, bring PS back up (Hoping it hasn\'t crashed), and then wait for the GM to come in.

By that time it\'ll be too late to do anything about the offensive player except tell them to stop.  Which I could have done in the first place.  GM\'s need to be in-game at least an hour a day so that they can actually do something about the problems.  If the GM\'s are busy doing other things or are having problems with PS then we need to, yet again, find new ones.

I just started going back to PS and luckily it\'s not been too bad.  Though from what I\'ve been told it\'s not always like that.  I stopped playing because I got sick of the annoying/offensive players.  I would like not to have to stop again.

I think we all need to realize that CB will attract a LOT more players. If it is mildly more entertaining than basic chat like MB, there will be plenty of GM\'s willing to be on to \"work their shift.\" There will also be GM petitions, so I doubt any of this will last. Petitions coupled with returning players should help keep away trolls.

I agree that it is ridiculous to have to contact a GM on IRC to get them to go on and boot someone. It\'s too much of a waste of everyone\'s time. I haven\'t really seen these trolls, but I believe it. The GM\'s I have seen have done a good job, even if it\'s not booting players. Last night, Xenia was helping some new players. There was even a bit of RP going on. Heck, last time I played (about 6 months ago) she was on. And the time I come back (last night) she was still there at that same time (~5 o\'clock GMT, 12AM EST :P). Pretty consistent if you ask me.
