Disgusted
« on: April 18, 2004, 09:08:15 pm »
I just logged in and very quickly out of PS there are some people online using very profane and discriminating language.
Can anything be done about that ??

Um, Im not sure how, but you can save the chat log...somehow. Send it to the devs...I don\'t know what they can do about it though... That rarely happens, the community is usually pretty clean

You need Ainekos mods to be able to save the chatlog.

But thats why we have GM\'s! Too bad none of them was ingame :|

EDIT: i have the chat log, but that wont change anything anyway. Such ppl ussualy come on once and then dont return.

The chatlog automatically saves if you have Aineko\'s mod.

If there are no GMs in the game at that time (which is a pretty safe guess otherwise those people would have been booted), you can go into IRC and ask one of the devs there to manually boot some people.

We have a number of GM\'s that can kick players.  Look for one of these people in game or on IRC.

- Aineko
- Axsyrus
- Cad
- Kada
- Gronomist
- Moogie
- Nilaya

Well I logged on as well and saw 2 people basically \"trolling\" in caps nonstop as ignorant and hateful as they possibly could. This happens in multiplayer games as there isn\'t a mentality check before allowing these specimens to log on.  What disturbed me was the fact that  this was going on for about an hour already without anyone on that could do anything about it.  Not a very good first impression to many of the people who were on and voiced their disgust before leaving.

The mods also include a /unshout feature, a necessity for survival without GM\'s on. ;)
(...and a /ignore.)

I personally think that more GMs should be appointed.  There aren\'t enough to police it currently.

I agree with Monketh. Of all the GMs appointed, I believe that Hevrah is the one I see in-game more often, followed by Nilaya, but they are not on most of the time. More GMs would surely help :/

I think it would be more sensible if the GMs appointed are of different timezones, so that we are guaranteed to always have at least 1 GM online at any given time. No point hiring a bunch of GMs all from the US who all go to sleep at the same time. :)

Edit: I\'ve been highly neglectful of my GM position lately... thus I will make a point to download the MB client again and hang around as much as I should already.

It would also make sense to have multiple GMs from one time zone, since no one can obviously play this game from say 2 oclock to 6 oclock (how do you spell oclock????).  Real life intrudes on us far too often to be able maintain a regular playing time for a set time during the day.

Moogie, you had to download it?  So you deleted Planeshift??  8o   ?(

Nonsense! I\'m on between 1 and 6 in the morning a lot of times, and so are several other regulars :P \"No one\" is misleading.

Yeah...
When do you sleep, again?

My point is that most people aren\'t willing to stay up that late.
...or can stay on that long.
