Yes, the unshout command came in quite handy...I invoked it for the very first time. And as for the fact that there were no gm\'s it was just bad timing (or good timing from the troller\'s perspective). But eventually, it was Kada to the rescue.
Best not to feed the beast, but inevitably someone complains or tells the offender to shut up, or worse yet, hurls insults back at him, giving him exactly what he is looking for. Unshout or ignore is the best way to go.
Of course none of this helps the impression of a newbie who just happens to come along at that moment, but you can only do so much.
