You could play a mute static, I guess...
But you\'ll have to aid the adventurers in SOME way, otherwise you\'re just standing there.

Edit: I just thought of something... You can be one of the statics that get murdered.

What if the plot could be an ongoing thing, with updates being posted here?

For example, the first post would be what the heroes know and a couple of PMs to the statics to tell them what their characters know.

The game would commence, and players would post major events such as:

My character discovered a trail of blood from the tavern leading to a locked door a few blocks away from the tavern.

This NPC-less quest sounds like a great idea.
If it is organized properly, it will help tide people over until CB.
I think the quest should be open to anyone interested, not just \"adventurers\".

For it to work, the statics need to keep their information a secret.
The more people in on it, the more likely the answers leak out.

As to talking to a real person on a quest, well thats just 100x cooler than talking to a computer.

Hopefully this will increase the amount of roleplaying in Planeshift right now.

Good luck.

It is. That\'s the whole idea of the statics. The statics won\'t go through the quest themselves, but lead the adventurers through it.

Yeah, information could leak, but I don\'t see how it actually matters... If a static knows something, he\'ll say it in-world when asked anyways. There\'s nothing that can be leaked that won\'t be discovered to the adventurers if they just ask the right person the right question.

Hmm...Why don\'t we make it a bit more interesting? For example, Draklar says: \"I will not tell you the location of Mogura unless you are willing to tell me where Monketh is to be found.\"

Alright, a bit more pointful than that but you get the idea.

I think it\'s a great idea! The only problem is, you know, it must be well organized.
I\'d be very happy to participate as a static. Even a dead one, if I have to. :))

So...How long before we get this thing up and running?

I suggest an ongoing quest that does not require everyone to be online at the time.

I\'ve also thought that there\'s no real need for the adventurers to declare themselves or be in a party.

I am going to start a new quest. I will choose a number of static volounteers (according to how many I need) and PM them information.

Anyone will be able to take part. I am going to start a new thread for the quest though (to keep this one for general discussion of these quests) in the Roleplay section.

Woha great idea, count me in in every way. Hmm maybe developing a combat thingy(using /roll command and a simple system) would also be good, however it may be hard to achieve that... and people don\'t like tuturials, but count me in anyway ;).

So you plan making people stop flaming and tearing each other apart by creating things to keep them busy. Sounds good, lets try it.

I can\'t really see how such a thing could be implemented in a quest...
Maybe that\'s how the murderer will kill statics. But then it\'ll be obvious who he is, especially if the static survives.

Either way, I don\'t think it\'s going to be hard.
One challenged the other to a match, each rolls a dice (1 dice with 10 sides), and the one that had a higher number in 2 out of 3 tries is the winner.

And good to have another player :]

Wait I have an idea. We can add a new character thingy, like the ones who play the \"monsters\" and \"bosses\" I can be one of them ;). And maybe adventure teams can fight each other at one time ^^.

That sounds like fun!
Barothe (two-time use rp alt) can be one.

Exactly, like Monketh said. Let\'s make MB something kewl to show our respect for Molecules.

So you like the monster / team fighting idea?... I want to be a monster thingy... Wait... that sounds bad.
