I think that the race limitations are well set. If you analize the physical and psychological aspects of every race, you will see that most of them are inclined to one or two kinds of fighting styles (the most versatile race would be the humans).
Take the dwarves, for example. They are strong and very tough, they dedicate their life to the making of weapons. That means that they are very used to the use of weapons, but their culture has not porgressed very much in the art of magic.
Elves, in the other hand, are extremely smart and sophisticated creatures, thus they tend to avoid physical fighting as much as possible. Since magic requires a high level of intelligence, this makes it a perfect fighting style for elves (and also archery, since it doesnt require a lot of strength, in which elves do lack in a bit).
Anyway, this doesn\'t mean that a dwarf won\'t be able to use magic (they will, but not as good as an experienced elf wizard) and that elves won\'t be good at melee combat (they will, but not as good as a tough dwarf warrior).
The race limitations are also there to even the gameplay. If Kran would be great using magic, they\'d be almost unstoppable, sicne they would have a great strength and magic as an aid.
What I mean is that thre must be some kind of limitations for certain races, this makes the world more real and also much more interesting.
