Music for Moogie
« on: April 29, 2004, 06:50:41 pm »
Hiya

After listening to the files Dyari posted as alternative PS music (particularly files #1 and #4) I feel a strong urge to listen to more techy-style atmospheric tracks... I love this stuff. :D

I was wondering if anybody knew of any sites, or authors, or anywhere I might get my paws on some. I don\'t want music with lyrics... just techy, atmospheric, perhaps eery or magical... anything like that.

Any suggestions? :) *bounce*

Phasio is pretty good, not sure if that\'s what you\'re looking for though.
Browsing the forums when I\'m bored, nothing more.

Thanks, I\'ll check them out. :)

Dyari: Sounds okay, but the buffering is a bit slow. :( I\'m only running on 150k so it stops frequently.

Starcraft Terran music is most excellent. Get an MPQ editor and open up the Starcraft installation program. Then arange the files by size. The ones on top will be music.

Oh my gosh Davis, I didn\'t know anyone else besides me actually listened to the StarCraft music :)

And yeah, Terran is the best, but Zerg and Protoss are also both very good to listen to.  If anyone really wants them and can\'t extract them easily, contact me on IRC and I\'ll upload them for ya :)

Well, most of this isn\'t really ambient, but I\'ll drop a plug for UNIT-E: http://unit-e.cuodan.net/

Cool folks, making music under the Creative Commons licenses, so you can share it with your friends and even make your own mixes and stuff.

None of my stuff is on the site yet unfortunately...been meaning to make some music for PS... :)

Oooooooooooh damn why didn\'t I think of it before!  OK I didn\'t actually listen to the stuff that guy posted, but Metroid music is ambient and techy and stuff.  Soooo....

Relics of the Chozo!

An awesome colab project to arrange the whole Super Metroid soundtrack.  Some reaaaaally cool tracks in there.  Of course you can find lot\'s of stuff like that at

OverClockedRemix and VGMix , of course those are all sorts of genres, but most VG arrangements aren\'t gonna have lyrics and stuff.
Ninjas have feelings too.  Mostly they feel like dancing.

some of the newest Infected Mushroom, from the album \"Converting Vegetarians\" is pretty spacy too.. (although I prefer their older, more \"acidy\" stuff :P)

Wedge: Oooh OCR, I love that site. :) They have some fantastic artists there, brilliant work they do. I\'ve downloaded almost all of the Final Fantasy 7 tracks and some from the earlier games.

I\'ll tell you what I think of it when I\'ve had a listen. :)
