Yeah, I think I meant reptiles. Oh well, lizards, reptiles, it\'s all the same :P

Karakth, asking if something will be implemented, or requesting stuff in the Wish List doesn\'t mean we expect it to be in CB. Alot of time to implement doesn\'t mean it won\'t be there eventually... (otherwise you could say that CB won\'t exist because it takes alot of time to implement :P)

I\'d go for giant lizards personally. They could even stick to walls like geckos so that you can go to different levels easily, etc.

And yeah I know what you\'re saying, SaintNuclear. Still some ideas (like my skydiving/bungee one :D ) will never be implemented because of technical limitations. But ridable/pack creatures would surely be implemented.

Snails can go on walls and ceilings too. And you can store items and stuff in their shell, wich is a great solution for a trader.

And since they\'re faster than cheetas, they\'ll be really useful for moving across the cave

But then...Where does the snail go? A snail\'s shell is designed to fit only the snail, not the snail\'s furniture too.

I must have missed something here. I\'ve seen them on animal planet, and I think in a race between cheetahs and snail, the cheetahs would win.

And besides...Imagine riding a giant snail. You either sit on its shell and keep slidin off or you sit on its soft body a dirty your pants.

P.S. If you wanted special Yliakum snails, it\'s kinda hard because there\'s not many ways you can mod a snail (size, colour). But lizards on the other hand are more moddable (size, colour, spikes, limbs, etc).

The shell is big enough, and the trained snails usually come with a door that was cut into the snail\'s shell, so their owners can easily put stuff in it. If you pay alot you can fir shelves in there, to make everything tidy.

Not in a fantasy world :P

That\'s why people invented SADDLES!
Snails will have saddles, with harneses and stuff.
If you\'re a crossbowman, you can have your snail fitted with a big crossbow that is too heavy to be carried by people.

There will be special warrior snails, with horns. Good for breaking into fortresses.
Snails have shells with many diffrent colors, shapes, sizes, it all depends on what you need your snail for.

E.g. a merchant would want a big shell with shelves and a big door, so he can put there valuable goods. A warrior would want a sturdy snail with horns. A rogue would want a slick snail, with a dark shell (to blend in the shadows), who is very agile.  A mage needs his snail only for travel, storage of glyphs. Royalty need magnificent snails, with a golden shell. Racers need an extremely fast snail, small aerodynamic shell, no need to store anything in it, just for races.
If you got enough money, you could pay a trainer to grow a snail especially for you, it\'ll take time, but will be very customized, and fit exactly to what you need.

So yeah, they don\'t have limbs, but who cares when you got such a variety?

That\'s crazy...Try cutting a \"door\" in a RL snail and tell me how long it lives.

And what would you fix the saddle to? I mean, with a horse or lizard the strap can go under the belly, but how does it work with a snail?

It don\'t work IRL because we don\'t have neither the proper tools, nor the proper snails.

I\'m not usre how the saddle will be fixed to the snails, maybe suction cups, maybe nails, maybe pressure.

Using snails as transport wouldn\'t just be extremely difficult to store items/saddle people etc. It would also be extremely slow. A snail must first lay down a slimy mucus trail and then haul the rest of its body over the trail in order to move, using particular movements of its muscles.

Are you trying to say that, just because this is a fantasy game, a snail would be able to do this any faster than they can in the real world? If you are, stop calling them snails. Because they won\'t be. :P

I had a great image for the lizards climbing walls idea. I think I might just try to draw it.

They don\'t have to be named \'snails\' in PS, I\'m using the name \'snail\' for a reference on how they look \\ move more or less.

But ok, I\'ll name them otherwise...

How about... Lumacas?

Ok, these Lumacas are slugs, with shells in diffrent sizes and shapes, but generally like the ones of RL snails.
They\'re big enough to carry people and items, and do all those stuff I posted above.

Ok, so now that I\'m not talking about snails, but a fictional animal, everything is ok, right?

Right. So how would they move faster than any regular slug/snail?

Btw:

I\'m that darn bored. :)

It\'s kinda like asking how a horse can run faster than a donkey : \\

They just do...

They move in the same way snails do, only that they do it faster.

No, It really isn\'t possible for a fantasy-creature-that-looks-and-moves-like-a-snail to move fasster than a real snail...

And Moogie, thats pretty cool, though Im still trying to figure out what that backpack thingy is...At first it looked like a house to me lol.

Lol yeah I thought it was a house too at first...S#Made me think moogie incorporated the whole snail shell house thing into a lizard somehow lol. Anyway, nice work Moogie. Think you could draw a person riding one? 8)

Hmm...This is quite interesting.

I suppose snails could move faster if they contracted their muscels faster. It would still be slower than a lizard, but nobody says we can\'t have both :D

Also, giant pond snails could be located on the 7th and 8th level. Raised by the Sea Elves for food (like cattle). I still can\'t imagine them being ridden though.
