Moogie: I meant lag caused by its hugeness. It would have a ton of polygons (but it\'s not like it\'s a house, which remains static) and making it move would be a big pressure on the engine/server/etc.

I disagree, it probably would have almost the same amount of poly as any other animal only it will be larger, this does not cause lag.  I the only problem I see is that the texture will have to be bigger & that?s what will cut the fps. Other than that, it would be something like a building, anyway you wouldn\'t be able to fit something that massive in town so it may be something like a public bus system or something like that unless they we smaller (A cheaper & safer way to travel!)?

What about Flying lizards, oh wait, I think that is already established with the tarasors. I still would like to see dragons that are docile in nature & are only used for getting around places & anyone could use, because of the docile nature, maybe have a special place you can rent Dragons & then return them in the next town for a fee?

Indeed...Say no to dragons and be proud of it!

As for the polycount...Having a creature that huge with the same number of polygons would look like...Crap.

Besides, cutting the FPS is as annoying as lag :D

Ok I tried to think what a Yliakum Turtle would look like given a mix of ?real? & fantasy animals & eventually came up with this:




Ok, besides a better texture, what else do you think this turtle needs?

It will fallow the Blue Way & maybe bite, possibly a docile creature?
After rigging, I will make it walk on it?s 6 legs & will probably hang around near beaches so get out your sun glasses 8).

I hope this is not off topic?

some more polygons, smaller eyes and the thooths (?) are strange.. but the idea is great, what for a modeling programm did you use? i hope it works with linux..

I use 3DsMax4 & 4.2, (on separate computers), I just found out that there are some polygons crossing each other & that?s not good lol. I think I will get rid of the spike on the head though?


- needs Eye Sockets & texture mapping & poly fix?
Don?t think texturing is my thing lol!

I like the turtle idea. The head seems a little flat though, maybe you could round it a bit. Also, try making the eyes smaller and move them to the side like a real turtle\'s to give it a less comic look.
