I think you need a good kick up the rear for that comment.

Seriously, Pencil. There\'s a liiiittle bit more to a guild than actually playing the game using the software.

That is for example:
- constantly developing and forming the idea of your guild
- website
- alliances/likes/dislikes/trade agreements etc for the future.
- and most importantly: yadayadayada (Using your mouth to define your in-game character instead of stats, usually referred to as \'role playing\' ;))

The internet is "the terrorists'" most important weapon, they say.
Wrong.
Fear is their most important weapon.
Ours is our freedom.

Disclaimer: This is my opinion and I can be reasoned with. I'm probably right, though.

Good to see you are still keeping one eye on things here now and again Pencil :)

I\'m sure you enjoyed that warm welcome ;) But they make a very good point, there is plenty for a guild to be doing in terms of activity that extends way beyond just the ingame elements of Planeshift.

Well since I am not busy I\'ll make a list of what we have done with our guilds since your so ignorant!

-Creation of the Guild
-Creation of a RESPECTABLE guild Website
      -Detailed ranking information
      -Laws of your guild
      -History
-Archives (Some guilds go farther and create a story backround of their guild, characters and even quests/wars.)
-Creation of a workable Forum
      -Categorizing boards and threads
-Making unique and a visually interesting forum
-Recruitment
-Going in-game and on forum looking for members
-Developing ways in which people are attracted to the guild
-Receiving members and keeping them active whether it be in-game, on-forum, by email or private messengers, etc...
-Representing the Guild
-Going on-forum or in-game confronting the PlaneShift Community and saying Hey this is my guild, these are my ideas I put together and I would like to make this work! Then from there actually start roleplaying your allignment, beliefs and what not!
-Guild Community
-Interacting with your members and members of other guilds forming relationships and enemies..

Also there is developing artwork and images like I am doing for each rank or each page of your site which takes time! The list can go on and on but these are the basics and if you have ever been a independant dedicated guild leader in PlaneShift you know it takes more then a couple hours to throw all that together!

sigh...

seriously, if u have just been browsing (as i have been) every once in awhile, u would realise that alot of the active clans have not much to boast about...

like i remember people going crazy about spies and how so and so betrayed them. and i just glanced through the topics today and saw alligations of illegal gem gathering!!

OHHH NOESS they haxxors mah gemz!  ;(

lol

its rather funny if u sit back and read without knowing anything about the sitaution.. like really who spies on a clan when there is no game to go with it...

i think alot of u people are taking the clan stuff too seriously, i think if (yes if not when) this game gets to a stage when clans actually become of some importance most people will find that they may not actually get along so well in game.

remember words are words actions are actions. i myself cannot trust someone from reading text on a forum, which i think recruiting perfect strangers is wrong.
i lost my sig... i hope ur happy

I just felt that this would be a good time to pimp my fledgling (and most likely never full fledged) Guild.....

wait for it.....

(Massive Fanfare) THE BROTHERHOOD OF (fanfare dies out) apathy

I claim for the brotherhood all those too lazy to choose their own guild!

No seriously I believe guilds are essential to a MMORPG, and I like the way they have worked guilds into even such a limited world with the gem collection chart et al.

Edit: Replaced the word chard with chart.
Just seemed to make more sense.

I\'d say that I\'m amazed by people\'s stupidity here, but nah... I\'m used to it  :P

Could you people actually think for once? Or is it too much to ask?
So what that there\'s nothing to spy on for now? Can\'t you figure it out that those spies won\'t magically disapear before next releases? If someone is a spy in another guild, he won\'t quit it you know. That means he\'ll be there in future even when there\'s actually something to spy on. That\'s quite obvious, at least for me.
\"i think alot of u people are taking the clan stuff too seriously\" - hmm yeah, don\'t care that you spent hours and hours on working on the guild, recruiting right members to have nice community inside guild - just let someone destroy it because mr sticky \'sez\' so...

now to answer the main question. I\'ll make it as simple as possible so you\'ll understand it:
active guild - its members are hanging around PS
inactive guild - the members are nowhere to be seen.
...
sorry, I just hate brainless people -_-

I dont understand why anybody would care about converting mr stickman here...if the guy thinks guilds are worthless its his opinion. I doubt that any person whos posted here is going to recruit him now anyway so no need to tame him.

And Stickman wth are you doing here trying to teach people that their guilds are worth nothing. You dont like the guild system then stay out of it! If you dont understand a discussion it was probably not meant for you anyway.

p.s. make a guild, in an hour, that is as organized as Depthblades Xperto and Ill crawl up my butt and dissapear...

my problem is you two coming here and laughing at the behavior of people in this community, \"without knowing anything about the sitaution\"
(yes, this is quote from yourself)
btw: I doubt someone who is too lazy to write \'you\' could make anything good within an hour

I also don\'t like your WtD link :P
on that note (to get a little bit more on topic) I\'d like to say...
all get ready for the incoming of Templars of Steel
Revolution against hip-hop shall begin :]
