Intro & About Cal3D:
« on: May 06, 2004, 02:33:30 pm »
First Hello everyone, I just found this sub forum Today & would like to contribute:

Age: (18 Next October), Location: MN, USA

3 Computers: P4(1.9GHz) & P2(400MHz) & >

3D Stuff: 3DsMax4 & 4.2, MilkShape 3D...

2D Stuff: PaintShopPro 7 & 8, Various Other Photo Editors...

Programming/Web: VisualBasic 6, HTML/JavaScript/Flash (Have to learn Visual C) :(

I am now learning how to Rig/Animate/Export non-Biped figures from 3DsMax4 to Cal3D...

I didn\'t find much on a search of \'Cal3D\', I Exported some very Simple models into the Cal3D Cally Demo & everything works like it should,
Anyone know a guide to exporting correctly to Cal3D other then \" Cal3D Modeling Tutorial\"?.

I think I will write up a tutorial about it today for Oroger to put on \"Laanx Wheel of Wishes\".

I also yesterday developed a tool for making the .cfg files, maybe in the future I will make them create automatically by selecting a folder?

Download: ?Zeraph?s Cal3D Utility?

Download My New Models Demo: (No 3D Appies Required)

Mirror 2: http://www.geocities.com/lightningseraphim/hw2/zip/index.html?ZeraphsAniDemoTex.zip

Acraig: This includes some models/animations you can fool around with in game, better ones to come!
Oroger: Going to center tutorial around newly finished turtle model with better head/fins,
Anyone know were to find textures for free that can be used in PS? Or is that against one of the license??

Edit: Here?s a ScreenShot of the new turtle model:

I don\'t think that\'s allowed because the art in PS may only be used in PS and not in any other game.

If artists can\'t use free resources on the web, that\'s going to make things very difficult.

Could you perhaps start out with a free original work & then change some colors & arrangement around & put it under the Ps license without having the original be put under the license?
