I was getting tired of Swords so:
« on: May 07, 2004, 03:52:55 pm »
I decided to make one of my own!

I know this doesn\'t make sense but hey, neither does this post:

To those of you who are confused, I cannot help you :P.
I still need to Map & Texture this that I will call a \"BiFire Blade\" or \'Bi-Blade\' for short...

Yes I need to get a grip, i.e. it needs a handle?

Note to Self: Some people do not like riddles...
(I\'m using Max Textures that will not export properly)

Doesn\'t look bad, but certainly doesn\'t look useful.

That would make an excellent tip to a staff weapon :)
The internet is "the terrorists'" most important weapon, they say.
Wrong.
Fear is their most important weapon.

I will call it a ?Fire Pike?...
It needs to have better textures, I included some generic textures that I made including Normal, Fire, & Ice. Check it out:

< Polycount:158(MaxFaces) & is Texture Map with 1 Mesh>

Since it is part staff, mages as well as worriers can use it. It really needs better textures.

What do you think? Could I make improvements before putting on wow?

How about putting another of those blades on the other end of the staff and have it be a quater-staff type weapon?  And then maybe a wraped grip?  That would be really sweet!!  I think the textures on the blades are nice.

Yeah either like that or flip one of the blades over so one curves in and one curves out? I\'m really liking it so far! :)

Ok, I updated the Picture Above about:

I like the Ice Texture in the light places, but the fire would be good in the dark...

Yeah, that\'s looking really good Zeraph.  Have you any plans for the texture on the staff part? grips, runes, knotwork, etc Or maybe just a polished wodden staff? oh, and what\'s the poly count at?

Edit: and I agree with your placement (i.e. light/dark). Or maybe they could be alignment specific?

Well that just about doubles it with 316, oh ya, & -4 then combined so 312 poly. I Think I am having allot of trouble with the texture map, but if you have a long staff grip texture that would look good I could use it!, try to be 70px by ??? (I gave room for 70px from 256px out of the texture for the staff pole) & I think the texture could be bigger, it is 256x512 right now?

Personally I think it needs new textures completely. Your blade textures are cool, but it doesn\'t make it look metal at all. If fact, they look like feathers :D
