Giving numbers to GTA: VC and GTA: SA is wrong. You could say that they\'re extensions to GTA3.
In GTA1 there were three cities - Liberty City (New York), Vice City (Miami), and San Andreas (San Fransisco).
So VC and SA are actually GTA3 too, more or less...

So what exactly would the developers have to do other than say.....Make a game after gta3 to get to gta4? ?(

Your logic doesnt make much sense to me. (But then i\'m not the sharpest knife in the drawer either :D )

the reason that they decided not to number VC and SA is because it\'s not a new engine build. I read that back when VC first came out, a direct quote I found in PSM.
GTA four will feature a new engine build with better graphics and controls. it\'s supposedly been in production since gta3 was released and rumors say that they\'re waiting to release it on the new playstation system. course, rumors don\'t often count for much so most of what I\'ve told you here can be discounted

Oooh!! I am a big fan of all the Grand Theft Auto\'s, personally I like their old birds eye view GTA for computer..but I love these new ones of theirs just as much!

EDIT: Especially the soundtracks on ViceCity, they were awesome!

You could set the view to the classic bird-style in GTA3 and vice city, although it didn\'t work very well.
Personally I\'m glad they changed perspective. I remember in GTA1 when driving that super-fast kind of motorcyckle, and it was almost impossible to steer because of the perspective. The new 3d-perspective adds a lot to the athmosphere as well. Watching the sun rise over Vice-city is an incredible sight (Well, the real sun is also impressive, but not in the same way if you know what I mean).

The GTA-series is great, but of course the game gets media after them with such a violent content (don\'t they have anything better to do?).
I read about two teenagers who sued rockstars for some millions because GTA \"had inspired them to commit a crime\". The two boys had borrowed their fathers gun and went down to the road where they had started shooting at cars driving by (!), whereupon they blamed Rockstar for what they\'ve done.

I don\'t know if they won the case or not, but seriously...

there is something about commiting crimes and pointlessly killing people that doesnt really appeal to me.
i used to have alot of fun playing vice city untill i finished it, then there was almost no point in playing it :O

if i want to play a game with complete freedom ill play morrowind or freelancer where the justice system is a little more realistic 8)

san andreas does look to be an improvement though but i hope crimes are handled a little more realistically or the game can generate \'random missions\'

I found some stuff in PlanetGTA, I\'ll post only what matters:

* There will be bicycles.
* Gang members will drive in gang cars (but more in the same car than in previous GTA\'s), and do drive-bys.
* You play a black male (I think I saw a screenshot with him somewhere).
* San Andreas won\'t be only in San Fransisco, but also in LA, and Las Vegas. SF will be called San Fierro, LA will be Los Santos, and LV will be called Las Ventura. The whole area will be called San Andreas.
* The game will be HUGE. Each city will be about the size of Vice City, and thats excluding the countryside. The game area will be about 4 to 6 times larger than any previous GTA game.
* There will be mountains and hills (imagine SF without hills  ).
* Driving in the countryside won\'t be boring, \"[...]the map feels very vibrant and alive.\", it doesn\'t say much besides this.
* There will be smog in Los Santos.
* The lighting, reflections, shadows, etc will be better.
* Many buildings that you can get into.
* You\'ll be able to buy, build, and run a casino in Las Ventura.
* There will be characters from previous GTA games.
* You\'ll be able to recruit gang members to do drive-bys with you.
* You\'ll be able to rob houses, but you\'ll have to plan first.
* There will be a stamina bar. You\'ll have to eat to stay in a good physical condition, but eating too much will make you fat. These things will affect your stamina. You\'ll also be able to work out in gyms.
* The NPC\'s AI will be better, and they\'ll have alot more things they can say (\"[...]voiceover recording sessions for an average pedestrian characters dialogue have gone from ten minutes to an hour in length.\" ).
* Now, this is cool: The game\'s difficulty will be dynamic. If you\'re really good in it, the missions will be harder than normal. If you keep dying and stuff, the missions will be easier than usual. -I know these things have been done before, but it\'s still great.

And they\'re really working out on it. They sent a research team to California to take pics and ask people questions and stuff.

now this will be cool. I\'m psyched now.

responce to a few of the features!

*Each city will be about the size of Vice City
in other words, somewhat close to the actual size of the cities.(without suburbs)
*There will be smog in Los Santos.
now THERE\'S realism. will it effect your stamina!!
*Many buildings that you can get into
>:D my favorite feature.
*You\'ll be able to buy, build, and run a casino in Las Ventura.
f**king schway man!
*There will be characters from previous GTA games.
could they mean phil???
*You\'ll be able to recruit gang members to do drive-bys with you.
see casino above
*There will be a stamina bar. You\'ll have to eat to stay in a good physical condition, but eating too much will make you fat. These things will affect your stamina. You\'ll also be able to work out in gyms.
hmm, don\'t know if this is a good idea

The site guesses the same thing, and I think they\'re right.
I\'m 100% positive that Lazlow will be in one of the radio stations (he was in GTA3 and VC), wich will be awesome.

It wasn\'t really a racist remark. Besides, the GTA serie makes fun of every type of person, it\'s pretty obvious that they\'ll make fun of black people and \'hoods gangs.

all this sounds great and all but how do you think the media is going to respond to yet another gta game?

Its just more fuel to the fire.

Hmm yeah, I wish they could just skip the character skin textures and have a defualt checker texture instead, that way we would skip all the media bs about racism  8)

When someone plays GTA he won\'t go off and shoot his friends unless he got a peanutted up brain. And those with a peanutted up brain will do it anyways, with GTA or without it...

Besides, the media lies all the time, tells half truths, and is more corrupted than any government. Accepting things that are said by the media just like that is wrong.
