Coolness beyond belief

not to destroy hopes or anythign but did anyone play Guild Wars during the 3 day event? that was a sick game dude and although eralavent to planeshift it has an affect since guild wars will be free what will that due to this community now i do realize they are different in ways such that guild wars is based on teams a lot of the way but you could also solo so in the end it is an rpg with its lvling and upgrades and such im just concerned that this will take away from this game.

upon entry leave your shoes.....dont want them dirty after i kill you = P

It was sweet as hell. It\'s free, I was a monk/mesmer, both dialup people and broadband people don\'t get very much lag if any at all.

Didn\'t really care though, my loyalties lie with Planeshift. Always have and always will. Planeshift will always be my favorite MMORPG, till the day I stick my sorry butt in the grave.

I played it for a while one day... uninstalled it before E3 was over and was back on PS.  The player interaction system was at an even lower level than PS is at right now.  Otherwise it\'s just Diablo 3-d, which figures where it\'s coming from.

I like the business model and a lot of other ideas about it, but there isn\'t going to be any RP at all with it, so not that interesting to me.
Ninjas have feelings too.  Mostly they feel like dancing.

GW was pretty nice.
But PS won\'t be harmed from it, PS got a whole diffrent focus group.

The game\'s main thing is monster bashing. Sure, there are PvP missions and stuff, but to be able to even harm another player you have to first get really good weapons and skills (skills in GW are things that you activate and they give you temporary changes, e.g. striking faster but easier to get hurt). And to get skills and good weapons you have to bash alot of monsters all the time.

But for a monster-bashing game, it\'s really good. Best monster-bashing game I\'ve played.

GW sucked so bad.... You couldn\'t even make a guild. Lots of the game is solo area, and the chat was awful coz it was so buggy. It may be better in a later version, but I probably won\'t get it.

I\'d heard it was great for a beta version, don\'t know myself. I\'m more interested in PS, spend most of my online time here or browsing web comics

I dont think that it will take anything away from plaeshift it\'s not like you have to choose one or the other, so a lot of people will have both.

It will definately pull some people away from PS by looks alone, but a majority would play both I think! Personally I will try it when it comes out just as I will play the new release of PS when it comes out, then we go from there :] Right now I am not worrying about either I am buying Final Fantasy 11 for PC and will start playing that soon, just found out yesterday that I got my mastercard from the bank so yep its going to be FUN FUN!!

Yeah, people can play both, but then they play less from each. Instead of playing PS 100% of their free time, they\'ll play only 50% (crude numbers), so it does affect the in-game population at a given time.

It won\'t draw much from PS because PS\'s focus group is RPers, while GW\'s focus group is monster bashers.
If there are games that should worry about GW then it\'s PristonTale, EverQuest, etc, etc, etc.
PS will only gain from it, because powerlevelers and monster-bashers will prefer to go to GW, so most of the PS population will be RPers. Also, when a PS player will have a sucky day he\'ll just go to play GW, pk for a few hours until he\'s calm, and then go to PS :D

It will draw more then a few I believe, this community is not all RPers just maybe the ones who post on here(make it obvious) and some in-game but there is a majority of people waiting to see the release come out so they can do some good old fashion hack-n-slash fighting, its the simple truth about it all!

Oh and you have done a survey on the \"Role Players\" to \"Hack n Slashers\" ratios have you?
