Sparring

Not sure what I could search for to see if it\'s been up before, but din\' find nothing anyway.

This is not some abstract or complex idea that needs to be worked out, just a simple explicit feature I\'d like to see implemented.  I would like the option to challenge a player to non-lethal combat.  It works exactly like regular combat, except when one person would have died, the battle simply ends with the loser at minimal life.  This affords players a fun way to settle differences that don\'t quite warrant killing the person, or let\'s you square off against friends without risking anything more than some feelings getting hurt ;).

I\'ll bet there are variations and minor issues to work out with this, but I\'m sure it could be made workable quite easily... mebee in time for CB even :D?
Ninjas have feelings too.  Mostly they feel like dancing.

It leaves him with minimal life?
Kinda like this, then?

You can beat your foe up alot, and then you can \'finish him\' and kill him.

I think sparring is a good idea. It doesnt need to be used for settleing differences though it could be used for newbs to learn how to fight.

i think you should be able to bet items so the winner of the fight gets something from it. of cource you dont have to bet if you dont want to.

Sparring is awesome! I love sparring! We had Spar Zones on Graalonline and tournaments and what not, they had a funny system of things let me explain...

I can\'t remeber what the meter is called but its basicly the color of your name under your character! When you didn\'t kill players(none pker) It would stay gold and that would make you somewhat immune to attacks just physical ones. If you did kill a player your color would drop to say red or green and so on until it was dark brown or black I think! It would gradually raise if you didn\'t kill people! Anyways...

In a spar arena you could fight without losing your stats/money/items and your color status..basicly like a fun zone unless you were in a tournament!

Tournaments are good idea . I even got one sugestion . Or maybe it exists already :D Say ... If there\'s a tournament being held , there would be entrence fee . And the winner will get all money from the found :D Needles to say that tournaments should be held among equal characters only . Ofcourse you\'re free to participate in higher level tournament ( at your own risk ) , but you can\'t participate it lower level tournaments . And ofcource entrance fee will be set acourding to level .

When sparring, why not just use fatigue instead of health? Once your fatigue bar is down to 0, you cannot fight any more, and therefore lose.
