Why not make 2-D veiwer so that you could see the planeshift worrld with out a camera, watch wars between different guilds etc.

You think we have resources for that?
You think that wouldn\'t be a bad idea?
You think that people would like to see a 3D world in a 2D prespective?
You thought at all?

I feel angry today..

Don\'t post when you\'re angry, blue. That\'s my helpful tip of the day. :)

Anyway, as for the suggestion... wish... something. Why would you want to see the world in 2D?

*Thinks* ... In fact, I suggest you just read blue\'s post and reconsider your idea. Or at least see how much this guy got flamed for suggesting something along the same lines: click here. People didn\'t really like his idea of a Ruunescape: PlaneShift

What I think he means is another camera mode to make it go into a \'sky cam\' to view everything from above, like a real time map.

I mean a sort of top down camera that alows you to see the are around you, for use by guild leaders in ordering their members to do different things in a different, closable window in planeshift

Why would guild leaders need a seperate game window to order people around? Honestly, what do you think the chat is for? I\'m just asking since I personally don\'t understand where exactly it is you want to take this. If you can\'t explain your idea, then it\'ll be hard to even get the devs to notice it in the first place, don\'t you think? :)

It is a top down perspective to show guild members, enemy guild members and passerbys in the local area. This is supposed to assist them in issueing orders using the chat

Well the problem with this is it becomes more like an RTS than a RPG.  A real character would not be able to tell if the enemy is approaching, say hiding behind a hill somewhere.   It would break the immersion into a character.  Just my two cents anyway.

That is what first-person (and all the other views?) are for. You will have to look around from the ground, like normal. That is unless of course you have a Pterosaur :P. Other than that, I think such a view would ruin a major element of the game --> immersion.

I\'m sure the merits of first-person vs. other camera views have been argued before, but I personally think a single first-person view would be best.

It sounds good when you say it, but when you think about it, you can see why it could hurt the game.
