Uhm... the server keeps track of accounts, Paladin (Jr.) keeps you from cheating, tells everyone else where you are, does the chat stuff... Not too much, I know but it will have a bigger role in the next release...

The server is not responsible for distributing game data to the client. The game data is simply too big to do that (several megabytes). The server is simply responsible for keeping track of the persistent world. i.e. where is everybody? How many crystals does someone have? Who is currently online? Things like that. The server uses a database to keep track of that information and it is updated by the clients communicating to the server and vice versa.

One thing, IIRC now MB hasn\'t got it\'s own dedicated server, it shares
