The highest rate possible. 100:1 if possible. So i won\'t be the only one poor :P

(hopes that 90 trias are a lot, since master Illyria owe me them :D)

It\'s normal that everyone try to get the best he can. And when you can\'t improve your things, the best way to climb in the classement is to make others worse ;). but there\'s some ways if you don\'t want me to try to drag you back. :)

For example, giving me half your crystals could be one...

Just a suggestion... :D

I\'ve heard that it will be at least 10:1, and most likely higher, that\'s if they do decide to convert at all. (Nothing is definate until it happens I have learnt.)

Nothing is a fact as far as Planeshift is concerned...it also used to be said as a fact that nothing would be transferred over and everyone would start over til beta, which I think would have worked out better.

Also, Crystals are being converted to Tria not gold.

These things are relative, you know. If the conversion rate will be 100:1, you\'ll be as poor \\ rich as you will be if the conversion rate is 1:1. Why? Because you\'re not the only person in PS. Funny, huh?

You say you got 1400 crystals. I\'ll round it down to 1,000 to make it easier. Now let\'s say there\'s another player with 100,000, and another player with 100.
If the conversion rate is 1:1, you\'re poorer than the guy with the 100,000 crystals by 1%, and the guy with the 100 crystals is poorer than you by 10%.
Now, what happens if the exchange rate is 100:1?

You\'ll still be poorer by 1% from that guy, and the the second guy will still be poorer than you by 10%! True magic!

The crystals shouldn\'t be exchanged anyways. My guess is that when it was announced they won\'t be, all the oldbies that wasted weeks and months on crystal hunting, and all the cheaters that wasted two days but got to the top of the charts started complaining (and maybe making threats that they\'ll leave). After a while the devs got annoyed from all this complaining and decided that the crystals will be converted.
I might be wrong, it could be that the devs woke up one morning and thought \"Hey, why not let them have some trias? Afterall, they haven\'t complained about the crystals not being converted!\", but it\'s more likely that the former happened.

Now, a good reason to convert the crystals to trias would be to give a treat to the dedicated players. Since you\'re probebly not one of them, you should say thanks for every tria you\'ll get when CB is released.

\"Dedicated\" does not necessarily mean \"Hunting\".

I didn\'t say it does.
But still, excluding cheaters, players that have hundreds of thousands of crystals invested alot of time into PS. And crystal hunting is helping a bit in hunting bugs too (bugs of picking objects), even though the chance to bump into a picking objects bug that wasn\'t reported countless of times is pretty low, and some probebly won\'t bother reporting new ones.

You are right, however, that just hunting crystals all day and all night isn\'t true dedication, even if you did it for months.

It was actually said a while before the crystal hunt (aka Molecular Blue) that nothing would go on to the next release...so really, people had no basis to complain at all...though that\'s never stopped anyone has it? :)

Ah, I thought I\'d finished discussing this at Kada\'s...but I can never help myself :P

ok, this is given the fact that the Broadsword is a good steel sword.

the broadsword is worth 1500 rupies, or (taking into account the given) 350 tria.

that is a 150:35 exhange rate

150:35 = 30:7

so the exchange rate is about 30 crystals to 7 tria.

or if you say the Galkard is a good steel sword, then the rate would be about 200:7 or 200 crystals to 7 tria.

so it is gunna be somewhere in the range of 30:7 - 200:7.  Depending on what a \"good steel sword\" is.

NOTE, these are only my estimates, and going off of guesses based on what was given to me.  I\'m sure the Devs will choose what rate they please, it might even be 1:1!
