Your computer is probably just too slow to load the world properly.  Last I remember there were issues with Intel processors specifically (I haven\'t been to this site in a while, though.  Things could have changed)

What are your computer\'s specs?  I\'ve had trouble with anything below 2 GHz and 256mb ram.  Please read the big sticky at the top of this forum asking you to post this information...

If, by crash out, you mean that window$ says that it\'s not responding, then you have to leave it for a verrryyy long time.. it just is too busy recalculating lightmaps to respond when window$ asks \"Are you still alive?\"

this has been mentioned many times before, so you should read the stickies before doing anything ;) And then you should try the Search Button... It can reveal hidden info, sunk in the murk of the duplicate thread swamp, and charred by the flamewars...

Versality: You will notice that in each category of the forums (General Discussion, Technical Help, Newbie Help, etc) there are threads with the word \"Important:\" infront of them, at the top of the page. These are \'sticky\' threads; they are \'stuck\' to the top so that they do not drop down the list and disappear like other threads, because they contain important need-to-know information. :)

The easiest, fastest way to find all the information you need about your computer specs is by doing the following:

1) Point to Start, click Run...
2) Type \"dxdiag\" (no quotes) and press Enter
3) A new window will appear. At the bottom of the window will be a button called \"Save All Information...\". Click this, and then choose a location to create the information file.
4) Open this file, and copy the System Information, Display Devices, and Sound Devices sections into your post. No other sections will usually be needed.

Death-Stryder: Okay, there could be either of two things wrong. First, go to your PlaneShift folder and run Updater.exe if you havn\'t already. Once it\'s finished updating, try and run PlaneShift again.

If you still crash, uninstall the game, and go to the sticky thread here entitled \"Important: New run_me_first.bat\". Download the new file, and use it with your .part files just like you did when you first downloaded the game. If any .part files are corrupt, re-download them.

Once you\'ve done that, use the newly created setup file to install the game again. Then, update the game first, before attempting once more to load.

Hope this helps you both. :)

hmm. i tried all that, but wat i meant was, when it was initializing world it takes ages and ages, and then all of a sudden it skips to main menu, then when i log back in it shows the previous things.

this is wat happens

initializing gui
initializing characters
initializing world
error

the initiliazing is the wrong order, but u get the idea, anyway then it shows error on the bottom of them all.
