From Fragnetics site:

The PlaneShift team is chugging along as usual, and we\'ve come to the point where the devs are starting to deploy Crystal Blue on our server. A combat system and AI are among the host of new features in the upcoming release, and we will be dedicating one server to the cause. Keep your fingers crossed and we hope to see you on the next version of PlaneShift soon!

Looks like its getting close :P

Way to go Devs!  But they have to put it on a server first to start the internal testing right?

Yup, all the work on CB so far has been done where the devs run their own server and client on the same computer. Now that they have all the obvious bugs out of the way, like crashing every time someone dies, they can start working on the tricky things, like having 10+ people running around at once. And of course, if the server suddenly crashes with 20 people online, it would take a while to figure out why... so they are most likely going to still be doing one person testing till it\'s released.

Yay, now we can say it\'s only... anouther month! :P

mm, let\'s do the math... 08/07/2004 + 1 month = 08/08/2004 then we\'re closer than ever no ? Well, I know, you haven\'t got a clue when it will be released... just keeping my hopes up to date ...

:P I especially liked Axsyrus\' estimation because it\'s the day before my BD.. It just couldn\'t get more timed than that :D
But who knows this might just be the devs way of saying that it\'s gonna be released \"soon\" :P

WTF???
What can possably delay a game for an extra year??? what did they do add 30197482379 new things?
And why dont they just release the game, I mean it is our job to find the bugs.......

No, it\'s your job to find the bugs that are not blatantly obvious :)

It\'s very easy to underestimate the number of unrelated problems that implementing a feature, or adding a map, or creating NPCs will run into.  It\'s also very easy to overestimate the amount of time available for development (life is funny that way).

If they released the game this very moment, you would probably see absolutely nothing, or be stuck 1000 feet in the air with no way down - 95% of the work on a feature can be done, but until it is 100% useable the impression is that no progress has been made.

Also, since the initial projected release date several things have been added but these features may or may not be in use come release time.
