Post your ideas here for general world suggestions
------------------------------------------------------------------

My suggestion is to add more \"elements\" to the world. Currently we have rain, thunder, and lightening, day and night. But what I\'d also like to see is a sun, and a moon, and possibly some stars. This gives us an actual lighting source. If you look at this screenshot I took

http://www.kbdb.net/ps/street1.JPG

you can tell which way the lighting source is coming from based on the shadowing, but the lighting source is not present. If we could have a sun and a moon, that moved across the sky, that would be awesome.

Considering that the planeshift world takes place in a massive cave, just how do you expect to be able to see astronomical bodies?

At some point we\'ll probably be able to see the \"Azure Sun\", the end of a giant crystal that (presumably) reflects sunlight down to the cave, but it will be fixed in place.

I suggest you read the background information on http://www.planeshift.it

Would be neat if there was certain people like rulers who could control the weather aspect in the game and it wasn\'t just random or in order.

About us being in a cave, can there be a whole different world outside the cave?

The cavern is big enough for atmospheric effects, apparently.  Day and night would correspond to day and night on the surface, but I\'m not sure if this has all been well thought out.  The crystal is supposed to throw off considerable ionizing radiation, that might account for the energy required for lightning

\"Rain\" probably is the water that seeps through the ground. Since I\'d guess that the water would pass through the ground, we\'d have rain, albeit a drop or two at the beginning.
Crazy am I. Not responsable for crazyness that ensues.

The rain would be rather dirty I\'d think, coming from the ground and all.

Technically they tried to even show the crystal in the current version, the skymap is just so ugly and stretched you can hardly tell.  The cyrstal draws it\'s light from the surface world, hence why it not only follows day/night patterns, but seasonal changes.  In any case, this works great for a believable day/night system, as the shadows being cast by objects can be expected to remain the same over time.

I do not think stars should be out of the question however, perhaps when the light of the main crystal becomes dimmer at night, you are able to see other smaller crystals shining that also take in light from the world above.
Ninjas have feelings too.  Mostly they feel like dancing.

There\'s already a thread about the atmosphere, and how a moon and stars are possible, and also a thread about how rain is possible.
