Chatting system

Hello,

It would be a lot better to have a proper channel chatting system.. i dont know whether this is already planned but i might as well post it up any way...

instead of shouting to talk to every one there should be set channels..

Channel one: Help channel:--- Where players and admin can help out other player with in the game instead of sugesting they goto the forum.. (purely for convenience)

Channel two: Quest Channel:--- where members can talk about quests and request help or tips..

Channel three: Auction channel :--- where players will announce the selling and buying of certain items and other players will bid on them.. (no selling or buying will be done via the channel the players will have to meet up and trade with each other, the channel is just there to find the best price)

Channel four: Chin wag, Gossip, Chat (what ever you would prefer to name it) :--- just for every one in the whole game to talk to every one about anything.

Channel 5: Admin only channel:--- just incase you didnt have one =p i cant not include you in my ideas lolol.. (gotta be fair) where basicly you can discus anoying members or chat with your self..

to leave and join these channels you would simply type /Join #    (# Would equal the channel number 1-4 For standard members)
and /leave # to leave that channel.. and that way you have the option to listen in on everyone.. or just the people in your area that are simply talking...

Also the channels would be colour coded..

so that way you can see what channel your ment to type in to reply =P

/c# to type in them.

and if a clan system is being introduce you could have c5 as clan chat (clannies only) c6 as clan allies and then bump the admin channel to c7...

Personly I think that having little tabs above the chat box and using tose to switch channels would be a lot easier than typing commands.

correct me if im wrong but with the tabs you will only be able to view one at a time? the commands are simple small but effective and for those that like to chat.. they have the option to chat in all channels at once.. and also with the commands your find that you dont use them so much and you will also adapt to the fact you have to type /c#in the beginging and you would catch on with in a few days and it will become second nature to you...

There should be 6 channels. What you put as 4 should be Off-Topic, and 5 should be On-Topic. And I beleive that something along the lines of this has already been suggested.

ive read through all of the other chat related topics and they all envlove changing it completly.. which personaly i think is silly.. because if some people already complaing about having to adapt to a few commands or tabs then there going to go crazy on the thought that the whole system would change...
my idea was to add to it..

The On-topic channel was the help channel... and if it were just called on-topic it would result in becoming either a chatting channel where ps wouldnt be mentioned i.e becoming the gossip channel or it would result in people asking for help.. i.e the help channel.. and the idea about an off-topic channel would result in it having to be monitored by admin because theres definetly going to be some form of abuse that will accur t some point.. although it would be a good idea to have an off-topic channel as such but then it would also fit into the subject of gossip.. give the channel such vague titles such as on-topic and off topic would be miss leading to some.. so it might be better to give them clearer more directional titles such as help, gossip or something else.. that way it would lead to a well orderd chat system and then people will be chatting in the right sections...
