Yliakum Now - PlaneShift newspaper

There are many threads in the Wish List asking for a newspaper in many diffrent ways. Some want it in-game, some out of it. Some want it controlled by the devs, and some by the community.

But it doesn\'t look like anyone did much about it.


So I decided to make a newspaper for PS.
The newspaper will run as a site, and will cover ooc and ic activity in PS.
There may not be that many stories to cover right now, but one every few days is still good.


I\'ll be glad if a few people will join in to help me with it, PM me or something. (a designer for the site will be very welcomed, I\'m terrible at it)


Right now it\'s pretty much a sketch, but atleast I got a sketch-article too.

Hmm, I can\'t be a permanent employee so to say but I can always hand in an article or two...help pass the time.  Is this cool by you and if so where would I send the articles?

Great idea oh and can I be a very anti-CV, IT, Axsyrus, Tepsu, Draklar and Aendar reporter? :P

Sure you can submit articles to me when you got the time. Just make sure you ask me before you write about it to see if  I think it\'s a good idea or to know if it\'s already being worked on so you won\'t waste your time.

And yes, you can be such a reporter, as long as you don\'t write in such a way. I prefer the newspaper to be as least biased as possible.


Edit: And to contact me: It\'ll be best via PM or email. Just don\'t use the email from my profile, it\'s highly outdated and I can\'t update it. I got a link to my email on the site.

you would most likely get punished/banned for offending other members or saying bad things about a guild so I wouldnt advise it. unless you were joking how ever and in that case no one cares

lol, I know I was just joking around....I wonder why people still take me seriously at all...anyways if I do see something I will talk to you Saint but as it is now, not much is going on besides mostly empty threats and treaties that change from day to day.

It would be interesting to see a Newspaper based on the world of Planeshift (As soon as the story gets underway). Just look at final fantasy XI\'s \"Vana Diel Tribune\" it\'s very interesting. If you don\'t know what I\'m talking about check out http://www.playonline.com and navigate to finalfatasy 11 and then the Vana Diel Tribune. If there was sometihng like this for P;ane Shift it would be very cool.

Actually I could set up one of my portal systems if you wanted, it would allow multiple people to intereacte and have different levels of news reporters. My planeshift guild site is set up on it, i\'ll set one up for you if people can give me a good reson to do it.

Eh, I have made a simple logo using the Scurlock font used by PS.

Also I PM\'d SaintNuclear about designing the site. I have lots of experience in HTML and CSS and hope to design a nice-looking, standards-compliant website for the newspaper.

People should post suggestions on how they want the site to look, as well as what features they want.

So let\'s put together a good-looking newspaper for our beloved game. :)

I\'m pretty sure a portal system is alot more efficient than html for an online newspaper...
