GAH!!!
« on: July 23, 2004, 04:56:50 pm »
I had to get away from my PA for a while...
get this. we were discussing in a sensible manner, this entire canada/america thing on the forums over there. and I tell them my views on bush, among other things... one of the guys that I\'ve had a lot of respect for over the years, and have supported a lot in various conversations comes out and says, \"you shouldn\'t hate your betters\"
god, we\'re having a political discussion, with american political ideals and he seems to think that one man can be better than another. I didn\'t expect him to change his political views. but for him to come out and attack me like that, in such a personal way really hurts you know?

Edited for language.

Perhaps he means \"You shouldn\'t hate those richer/more successful than you.\"

I don\'t see how it\'s a personal attack - his evaluation of \"betterness\" is probably based on authority and responsibility accorded to a person, in which case Bush is pretty much everyone\'s \"better\".  You might disagree with his philosophy (i.e. that we have \"betters\" whom we should not hate) but try not to take it too personally..

I\'d just say that I don\'t support hating anyone; if he means \"don\'t question the competency or motives of your \'elected\' representatives\" then I would have to disagree.

Surely I can ;)

I am tired of hearing stuff about U.S.A thinking its better then every other country because its potential wealth! Well lets break it down:

Oil tycoons an a majority of the wealthy people in the USA are not all Americans most are foreign(USA is a country of Import)! So where are these rich yanks? Its simple there Rap super stars (Hip-Hop) They are the greatest growing powers of your country along with various movie stars :P The rest of the money your government shows off is from hard working americans being taxed heavily!

So you got it broken down into 4 quaters of Wealth in USA:

1st) Foreign People
2nd) Foreign People
3rd) Stolen Goods from Foreign People
4th) Government Thiefs! Hip-Hop Stars! Pornographic Movie Stars!

This proves your country is not overly wealthy then others! Your money is not really YOUR money, its stolen! ^^

(Wonders what he just said ;) )

I don\'t hate anyone, really, I don\'t like bush, or our government. what hurts is, I tried to talk to him politely, to tell him that no man is better than me, he started flaming me as a hypocrite, he believes, honestly that I have no value as a human, and this after about three years of friendship. I\'d link you to the conversation, but it\'s on a members only board

What people fail to understand is that THEY ARE ONLY HATEING HALF OF THE U.S.A ! as theres 40 % who will always vote for the Democrats and another 40 % who will always vote for the Republicians (SP) its the 20 % that  really decides  who wins !

I say all of us who actually have minds of our own should pool our resources and buy a large island to build our own nation on.... that way we won\'t have to deal with the bullshit our government hands down to us...

then the problem is... do we create our own government or be an anarchic society with unwritten laws?

Play nation states then iam sure you can find it useing the search thingy. And form there we can find out the perfect answer for the perfect nation XD

But i\'d say the isle would only work if we learn some of karl marx teachings with dash of swiss democracy (SP) !   provided we were all linked to the internet (start a collective company selling stuff ) and t.vs and all we\'d be set ... or we would turn in to savage men/women ... :D :D

(pure rubbish)

You create your own government.  It would be a meritocracy, you should have to be a certain degree informed and intelligent to vote. (Direct Democracy too, eliminating politicians.)
Of course, if you had a nation of people with common sense, would you need a government?  Yes, so you don\'t get invaded. :P

Anyway, DepthBlade!  I don\'t want to hear that off-topic bull!  Take it to the other thread.

planeshiftia??? has a certain ring to it...

I\'d say that I\'d prefer a true democracy. every law made is voted on by all citizens, there would be no true national figurehead, like a president or such. I don\'t know all the details, but that\'s why everyone would vote, nothing could go through that the majority of people didn\'t approve...

and I think that education and healthcare should be paid for strictly by the government. those are things that everyone should have a right to
