Vacation
« on: July 27, 2004, 03:06:29 am »
Just to let everyone know, I will be in England from August 1 to August 16.  I\'m not sure how much computer time I will have, but when I return I will be taking up my janitorial duyies again....so don\'t think any of you Guild-ies will be getting a two week break.

Ok I finally made it back.
Unfortunantly people didn\'t heed my warning before I left and actually increased the amount of spam in the guilds forums.

There is no way I am going to be going through all that individually...until of course there is a faster way to delete posts.

So as some of you may notice, if I feel a thread has gone completely awry since I left it will be closed or deleted until I feel that those responsible for the spamming/flaming can act accordingly.

P.S. - And those of you who have a problem with it, PM me don\'t spam this thread as well.

Wibble Aendar, the Guild Forum desperately needed that.  *shakes head dissaprovingly*

I look forward to your zero-tolerance spam policy. :)

zero, 0, zip, nothing, empty? Impossible it will always slip by if you are going to uphold this policy you must stretch your power to all boards ^^

Maybe one day he\'ll get a promotion? :)

Not that a zero-tolerancy policy is needed on any other board except Guilds, mind you...

Clearing out the guilds forums alone is a hassle, I dunno if I could do the same in all the boards.  ?(

And the only forum I really pay attention to is the Guilds Forum so I could care less what happens in the others  :]

Pray that day never comes :(

The skys darken, clouds begin to rotate into thundering clouds of destruction..Aendar walks upon the lands with a \"Delete Post Button\" and the Will to use it! Noobs everywhere start to flee to the hills in fear of a painful humiliation of a extra \"Delete Post Count\"! They wait...they wait for the day..nay THE MOMENT...to return and spread the ultimate spam terror that will forever rid these lands of \"On Topic Posts\"!

I like it this way, so Aendar is able to focus on one part, the part he is most interested in...not every moderator needs to moderate the whole board, that\'s too much to go through and wouldn\'t see it as a promotion at all.  I mean, I don\'t even read most of the posts on this board and I don\'t even have to pay attention to whether their spam or not so it goes a lot faster.

And it is not hard to keep posts on topic, new to the boards or have been here forever, not hard at all.

Well, this threads topic was Aendar announcing his vacation. So technically this little discussion about stricter moderation and moderator promotions is also off topic...

Not really, as the discussion was also to do with how spam would consume the forum while he was gone.
