Armor and Magic
« on: July 27, 2004, 05:12:36 am »
When we put on armor...will we actually be able to see our characters wearing armor? or will we only be able to see it in our inventory? And does anyone know what type of magic there will be? B/c i\'m really hoping there is an invisibility spell or a chameleon (sp?) spell.

EDIT: Also, what do you think about marriage. Like you get a marriage licese and everything, and maybe some benifits. Like being able to live togeather, or share items or money or something of that sort.

For Armour: I\'m pretty sure they will be represented by some graphical means on your character. Unless of course the devs are too lazy ;) but seriously, there are so many opportunities for roleplaying and gameplay if the armour is shown that they probably will.

Invisibility Spell: There\'s a way of magic that is dedicated to spells concerning the mind - *Illusions*, for example. So of course there will be an invisibility spell.

Marriage: It\'s more important to get Combat, Magic, Quests, etc. first. Then the devs can probably add other elements of gameplay like marriage.

(P.S. Please correct me if I\'m wrong about any of this :))

Not correcting you, only reinforcing you.
Armour-Weapons are shown, so why not armour? I\'m sure it will be.

Invisibility-Although there will likely be spells that can hide you, there are also the skills Backstab and hide in shadows that allow you to camouflouge in dark places.

Marriage-Marriage isn\'t something the devs promised and they probably haven\'t put much into it. It may just be a neat feature they\'ll add later.

Also, to correct you all on one thing, there is no \'final release\', it is an open project and can receive updates any time.

Ok, most of the things have allready been brought up.
When it comes to armor, I haven\'t really thought about it so I don\'t know :P

The code in the server already has an Invisiblity feature for GMs, so tranfersing to controlled use in spells wouldn\'t be that hard.

Marriage. Very simple system for that (Hey, we thought at it atleast :P ). Basicly a GM changes your lastname to be the same as another person. Because the lastname has to be unique at creation, you can see which ppl are married

When being invisible, I\'m guessing that you would still be touchable. So if a character was to run into you, he would know that there is something there. I\'m proposing that, like in life, if you\'re invisible and you planned to stay hidden, if you see someone running towards you you would jump out of his way, so if the same happens in CB your character will automatically dodge this person as long as your character can physically see him (so if he\'s behind you he can still bumb into you). The dodge should be animated like dodging a car in vice city. Lol just kidding. I think there should be an nvisibility spell, if there is I will definately choose the Azure way, as I was planning to. ;)
