Server Problems
« on: July 29, 2004, 04:00:04 am »
Ok, so I try port forwarding and I try all these things, it\'s not able to connect to the host when i try to do the update, and when I try the game, it can\'t get a hold of the server... I\'m starting to think i need to invest in windows xp professional. Any Ideas? other than trying to change the server or trying to portforward?

You have to have open access to port 13331 for both UDP and TCP. If you already have those open, I\'m not sure what to suggest.

Like I wrote in the other post of you, you don\'t need path forwarding. Make sure you or your ISP don\'t have a proxy enabled, PS doesn\'t like that in the current release. And allow your firewall to let UDP traffic pass on port 13331. Do you have Windows XP? Sometimes changing the compatibilty mode to another windows version helps (right-click on psclient.exe and click on properties I think). If it still doesn\'t work you better wait for Crystal Blue, the next release which will be out soon (tm).
