racial wars!

wall what if we had wars between races? and certain races hated eachother so much that most of the vendors would not vend on that race.
example. kran and humans hate eachother, since an ancient crusade of human zealots \"crusaded\" across kran territory and a bloody war erupted. humans killed children of the kran ect. ect. but this lead to hatred and humans and kran where always fighting few kingdoms where left out of this. so if a battle erupted kran would have a choice to fight or not so wouldnt humans. the krannish vendors would not vend on humans of course because who would sell to an enemy. they would be close minded and very few would be comassionet

That would really destroy a lot of the guilds and friendships that there are right now, because a lot of people have different ideas for different races that don\'t include hating other races.  Most guilds accept all races, and this would cause fighting within guilds and tear many groups apart.

And anyway, racism is incredibly un-Mirthful.  I would be vehemently against anything of this sort.

i dont think this game should promote racism, no matter if its just imaginary races, i have played a game with this particular feature, and the results where frustating,(the game is \"Dark Eden\", a slayer vs vampire mmorpg), the hight level vampires in that game kill newbies every minute, and you just keep reviving and not advancin at all, untill you become a high level character yourself, besides, wars will only disturb the other players gameplay, at least if is a racial one, also if a guild haves members of the oposing races.....what then, or if you deside to go tresure hunting, and you find yourself sorrounded by a grup of..lets say diaboli, who arent there to entretain you, but...im not completly against the posibility of wars in the game, but if you make racial wars.....no matter how fun it may look, it causes to many problems, and twist the minds of any 13 years old kid, who may be playing, thats why, if there was a war, it should be in critical moments in the history of the game, like poverty of some towns, the cration of a monopoly, a tyrant king, etc....lets promote the real reason of wars, so the kids can undestand intead of thinking that people just fight because the other side are the bad guys and thir side are the good guys....well thats just my opinion....(lets not change the subjet to why people fight, or to a \"war are stupid?\" thing, lets focus in how, where and why could ocurr in the game)

i hate elves ! and elves hate \"lower/less advanced\" races they belive their all high and mighty (untill the cabal starts burning them) .

The dwarfs might not like the kran as they eat the ores. humans might not like enkies as their \"animals\". It brings depth into the game . so you might have Npcs who ignore you due to your race or treat nicer you because of your race ....

and i agree \"stupid kids\" will spoil the game but if the mature community shows contempt to their actions they might stop or lessen down being stupid, And theres always the cabal N00B bashing squad :D:D

Bah, apart from being so worn-out, it\'s not possible in Yliakum, because the description states that all the races have been living peacefully and equally with each other, so why would there be racial wars all of the sudden? I don\'t like the idea, btw., but it also doesn\'t seem to promote RP, just PvP. we already have guild wars for that, which is, unlike racism, based on somewhat justifyable reasons (like thieves guild vs merchants guild) and can more reasonably be argued to promote RP.

@ Snow_Raven: No, I totally disagree. Elves don\'t hate anyone, just as dwarves don\'t. It is a question of the specific game world and the way elves think in this world. \"Elf\" isn\'t the same as \"Elf\" if the underlying world differs. I know elves of different worlds who have totally different views on life. So no, this can\'t be argued and also I don\'t know of any RP world in which racism is so extreme like IRL. I think racism should have, if at all, only very limited place in RP, and it doesn\'t encourage RP at all, I think. It just encourages unjustified hate and aggression.

Maybe the dev\'s could add a backstory, maybe a tension between certain races...  It would certainly help roleplaying.

Not all people of that race would dislike the other, but some could have the tension between them or even really hate them.

But then you don\'t really need world wide racism maybe your character just dislikes them for some reason or another.

I must ask you how would it help RP? I can only see it help PvP. Sure, some ppl. may indeed engage in IC hate-speech or in anti-racism, but the majority will, IMO, either not care or take it as an excuse for PK. And again I point to the settings page where it says:

What about wars between lesser non-intelligent races, like the ones that just rade settlements & do not have much language skill?
Sort of like the sand-people in starwars.

I may be worng but this is what the devs want to avoid.
Racial wars mean massive PK and as we all know PK=BAD.
So far i havnt heard anything about wars in PS. Almost all if not all mmorpgs have such wars. Its like a standart. Planeshift is more original(so i hope :P) and not only based on some silly wars.

i dont think its a good idea because lots of guild would be split up. i dont think the species wars is a good idea either.
